I'm pretty sure claiming not to know what acephobia is and needing to Google it is dismissing the valid and extremely serious concerns of these marginalized people. It's more or less mocking them, saying their problems aren't shit. Standard for ResetEra, I suppose.

Having extensively read at least two threads from ResetEra about this I can tell you that apparently sometimes people say "what are you gay?" to dudes. And also according to Xaszatm there are lots of rapes of asexuals by people who think "they just haven't met the right one yet" and I'm not making this post up and I will go find it

While the fault of Gaf's implosion rests solely on the (elf-shaped) head of Tyler Malka it's important to remember the role the site's moderators played in keeping the allegations suppressed until the dam finally broke (let's also remember beloved Era member Jason Schreier was also informed of the allegations but refused to investigate them because he didn't like the source which is exactly what a professional journalist should do). So when it came time to create a new elfless forum for the fleeing Gaffers in the aftermath a key part of its success rested on vastly improving the moderation. Instead however Era chose to do the exact opposite and somehow managed to make it even worse. Whereas Elf-kun had actual ties to the videogame industry thus keeping him somewhat in check, Era staff was made up of complete nobodies and a couple individuals whose only claim to public relevance was having a decent number of Twitter followers, thus giving them the freedom to power-trip as much as they wanted without consequence. No better example of this is the rule banning any kind of open discussion of the state of the forum or issues with moderation and regulating them to the far easier to control PMs instead. Similarly, the ability to label users 'troll accounts' gave the moderators a simple and easy way to ban posters they disliked regardless of whether they had actually broken any rules or not.

To anyone outside of Era with half of a brain inside their head it quickly became apparent the website was a ticking time bomb but no one could have predicted just how bad it would be. Era quickly became a joke for how many bans it handed out on a daily basis and this thread has remained a first page Community Watch mainstay ever since its inception. Any kind of dissenting opinion on any kind of political issues would be met with either mockery and shame or moderator action and it quickly became apparent that there were numerous non-moderator accounts given special privileges and exempted from the rules all the other posters were held to. Better still was the realization that many of these accounts (cough, Excel Spreadsheet, cough) spent their time actively seeking out posts or posters they disagreed with and trying to bait them into saying something the moderators could ban them for. Any kind of intelligent discussion around complex issues was quickly snuffed out and threads became dozens of pages of people agreeing with each other. On occasions where it was possible to disagree with the majority (such as Jessica Price getting fired for being a complete headass) without getting banned, posters upset people would dare disagree with them would throw fits about how the site isn't progressive enough and threaten to leave only to come back a couple days later anyways (HI KINSEI).

For 3 years this went on, championed by the site's regulars but now that it's finally one of their own that got got their response is to throw a site-wide temper tantrum and accuse those same mods of being Nazis. Those moderators in turn are now left to watch helplessly as the posters they can't reason with break numerous rules and directly insult them knowing that any kind of action taken against them will simply incite even harder crying. Neither side is willing to or can budge without completely losing face and ultimately whatever the end result of this shitstorm is will irrevocably damage the site quite possibly beyond the point of repair.

They made their bed. Now they get to lie in it.

Tellingly, it is the one of the only high volume CW threads that has never become plagued or diseased. Anyone from there who comes here to escape stays gone and has nothing good to say about the place. The mods have created a forum that has nothing in it but hate, but what it hates most of all is itself and the absolute scumbags who moderate it.
