It's not that subscribstar is mismanaged, it's that it's a company that's literally based in Siberia, but has to bank in the US. Like Newproject2 it's a small operation that has to put up with a lot of well funded opposition.

The time for Metokur to transition to Subscribestar was 3 months ago. There's no point him whinging now that Patreon have banned him.

My understanding is that Subscribestar originally operated under the radar providing payments to a handful of creators that had fallen out with Patreon and Paypal (that chinese cosplaying THOT being the main one). Then Sargon, and the Patreon purge happened, they got an influx of customers and they had to start complying with US law.

They seem to put up a harder fight with the Mastercard, Discover etc, than patreon do when it comes to deplatforming. However at the end of the day they have to operate within that specific business environment.

They don't have any moral obligation to Metokur. He's been banned from Patreon and had his superchats cut off.... well he should have seen that coming. A Subscribestar or Newproject2 account a few months ago would have left him in a better position now.

I mean it's not as if he ever produced anything for his patreons anyway.

They take something like 5% I think. They kicked a guy who makes their company maybe $1500 a year at most. Regardless of who pulled the trigger, Patreon has lost absolutely nothing in absolute terms, and they don't do things like this for commercial reasons. They do it because they are owned by evil people who want you sterilized at best and more likely dead.

While I have no beef with him, there's an unreasonable expectation for YouTube to be stable and trustworthy with anything up to and including handling someone's money.
If you can't be bothered to use an alternative to superchats then you shouldn't be surprised when YouTube fucks up again during a year long string of fuckups involving just about everyone on the platform.

If you're allowed to stream on YouTube. And you're monetized. There is very, very little reason to use second tier services like Streamlabs. If you do anything controversial Streamlabs will disable your account and you might lose your PayPal at the same time. Meanwhile, if you lose monetization on YouTube you are far more vulnerable to getting that final ban that takes you off YouTube overall. It makes sense from a monetary perspective to challenge that before giving up.
