Think about it from YT's perspective, why would they want edgelords on their platform when they bring the potential of bad press (see Carlos Maza) and if they can't outright boot them (since the backlash might be too much of a headache) then why not just make it more uncomfortable for them to exist on it.

No one believes any of them are going to affect the outcome on their own, thats retarded. But, booting them off and making it less amenable on their platform dictates a particular culture that they want (i.e. no naughty hate speech shit). And that culture is substantial in how elections go at least in terms of online consensus. So in a very small way they do have significance, at least in being able to become examples.

Remember Occam's Razor. It's more likely that they just tanked his monetization because he doesn't have any videos and therefore isn't providing Youtube with any content outside of streams which can't be rewatched except on a bunch of archive channels that are probably not monetized and don't benefit Youtube at all.
