It's not a scandal if you do it out in the open and brag about it.View attachment 1020976
Did Biden forget all the things that happened during Obama’s presidency, some of which he facilitated in?

He dropped things he believed in for 40 years in less than a day because some retarded bugperson on twitter reee'd at him for a bit, so yes. He did.View attachment 1020976

I dunno if this would truly go in here, but it is related to politics and Trump somewhat and I feel like we could all use a little bit if positivity in our lives.
Today I threw a party for my theatre troupe (which doubles as my best friend group) because we had a really successful play this fall. It was just the 15 of us watching the movie version of our play and then playing Cards Against Humanity, and as we were all laughing over the card selection I noticed something that made me really happy and hopeful for the future.
All of us have vastly different political opinions (Some are very anti-trump, some of us are very pro, some of us lean slightly to one side or the other, and some of us are just plain ambivalent) and despite disagreeing heavily, we're all able to sit down and laugh over hilariously offensive card choices and listen to music and play dumb party games and watch movies together. We're able to look past politics and agree to disagree because we're all friends and we love each other and petty politics can't destroy that.
It often feels like we as a society are becoming more and more divided by the day, but you sometimes gotta step back and remember that twitter isn't real life, and that most people can get along and love each other despite their politics. It's not as bad as it seems, honestly. We'll get through the bullshit of Current Year, I promise.
I stopped following XKCD when he posted the I'M WITH HER "comic".![]()
Come to think of it, the guy behind XKCD was a big Hillary supporter. I wonder if any of his comics have TDS
Part of that is the Chinese being balls deep in California's/Silicon Valley's asshole, and therefore balls in the DNC's asshole as well, and part of it is the eternal Boomer.
Most NeoLiberal's are finally starting to realize that the End of History was declared rather prematurely but being Boomer's and Gen X have responded by focusing on the Russian menace.
Boomers love the old and familiar and nothing is more old and familiar than Cold War 2: 21st Century Boogaloo.
It's a comforting delusion.
This notion that you can get the NATO gang back together to fight an old foe and have a bogey man to keep the plebs in line as well.
But it's only a delusion.
The world is changing.
NATO is fracturing, the age of globalist Free Trade is coming to an end and the post WW2 order is falling apart at the seems.
Trump is one of the few people who has recognized this fact and acted accordingly.
The people fighting for the failed status quo are either greedy and complacent or willfully blind to this changing world.
Oh and the biggest reason for all the Muh Russia hysteria is that Queen Hillary told them that the Russians are bad now and God forbid the Royal tantrum isn't appeased.
Can't forget that part after all.
Nah, if we had done all that we'd instead have a completely different set of problems and somebody would complain about how obvious it was that we shouldn't have done it.Sorry for the off-topic post. I won't waste a bunch space in the thread with it, though.
I think a lot of mistakes the West have made since the fall of the Berlin Wall were such obvious mistakes it must have been pure hubris to have made them. A lot of people really did seem to think it was "The End of History" or of war or whatever.
Just a few that I think would have drastically changed things:
1) Not using the IMF and World Bank to help oligarchs asset strip the Soviet Union.
2) Not revaluing the Yen, cauising the Pacific Rim collapse and re-structuring.
3) If we'd been punitive with Chinese devaluation of the Yuan.
4) Not reneging on the deal to provide power to North Korea in exchange for them not following Nuclear Program.
5) Not embracing Ortega and pumping middle class money into Nicaragua to stabilize and gentrify Central America.
6) Working with the Taliban to bring Bin Laden to The Hague (as they offered to avoid invasion). (I'd probably have bombed the Saudi royal family instead).
7) (Probably most importantly) Failing to aggressively modernize African countries via industrialization and mining and supporting capitalistic investment however possible.
A stable, more Westernized Africa would have meant a stronger, more Western based Europe, a choking off of Islamic extremism, a cheaper labour pool to counter that of China, and partial control/access to the vast natural resources of the continent. Instead, China has moved in there.

Pretty sure explainxkcd used to have a page about the authors TDS, but all I can find now is this. Sad.Come to think of it, the guy behind XKCD was a big Hillary supporter. I wonder if any of his comics have TDS

In the wake of Drumpf's success, more republicans are abandoning the "respectable and upright and decent" image their PR people have been poisoning them with since before the Bush era and are letting loose with some good old fashioned spite and sarcasmSeriously, what the hell happened to Cruz?
Is it the new facial hair? Or is he just that good at pretending?
Come to think of it, the guy behind XKCD was a big Hillary supporter. I wonder if any of his comics have TDS
This. I've commented before that the danger Trump represents isn't what he might do or not do, but that he'll give the Republicans a taste for blood -- Democrat blood. In the wake of Drumpf's success, more republicans are abandoning the "respectable and upright and decent" image their PR people have been poisoning them with since before the Bush era and are letting loose with some good old fashioned spite and sarcasm
Besides if you are going to be called a subhuman literal nazi death camp commandant no matter how hard you try to suck up to the democrats and democrat aligned media and no matter how bipartisan you have been, you aint got much motivation to try and play it friendly with them anymore, especially when adopting the tactics of bellicose populism and irreverence towards media/democrat sacred cows has proven a perfect counter against the traditional media hit pieces and gotcha moments.
Basically its a choice between desperately clinging on to the vain hope people who despise you and will always despise you might some day "respect" you if you grovel before them enough and refuse to fight back...or choosing to start winning elections while slowly but surely killing the system which set your side up to fail while those who despise you shriek in impotent fury
And that's not even all that TDS-y -- almost more of a commentary on 'Excuse me, are you sure your priorities are in order here?'.
