I wonder if all of them really are 18, since it's easy to lie about age online. But even if all of them magically were adults, the fact that the site might be owned by that dude...

Not sure if it was mentioned here, but some girl from there was actually kidnapped by some dude claiming to be an "ana coach".

Usually the ones seen in practice are the teenage to low 20s variety, but I've seen some up into their 30s.

Agreed, I think the main thing to take away though is that it was isolated groups rather than having the opportunity to spread into a contagious fad, most fads and this case destructive habits would be isolated.

As bad as it sounds, this sort of shit can be really destructive if it's not taken into account and acted on quickly.
I've met several people who went through the emotional teenage stage doing dumb shit like self harming, most of them grew out of it, some of them don't, and it eventually costs them big.

Yea, I tried to join that website Skinny Gossip a couple of years back until I saw that you basically have to submit a photo of your body to be approved to join it.

I was like hmmm don't want to dox myself. But mostly, I think I wouldn't be skinny enough. Also I really wonder who approves the "skinny" photos. Is it some pervert? Probably.

Thought she must have died, then I spotted her in town the other day just lurching about looking as horrifying as ever. Truly skeletal face, sunken eyes, sunken cheeks, hatchet jaw, skin seriously discoloured, legs the size of a primary kid's lower arms. It's a testament to the human body and modern medicine that she's still alive.

The other isn't quite such a bad case but looks ill as fuck. Stick legs with the huge joints, sick-looking grey tinge, to her skin, thinned out hair, the weird furry body hair thing they have going on, just unpleasant. Nobody, but nobody with a shred of mental wellness or even decent aesthetics would ever envy such women. Every single physical feature that makes a woman attractive to anyone is destroyed, scorched earth-style by anorexia.

I don't think the fatties really think anyone envies their bodies, but the ana crowd do. The former seems to dervive their stupidity from defensiveness and egotism, the latter are just six fucking sheets to the wind and thoroughly, sincerely delusional the way untreated, unmedicated schizoids are.

People absolutely do stare at them, but maybe they think people are envious? Or they think they are looking at how gross and fat they are? Hard to say.

The fact they have to be cared for by mom, and cannot have any job or adult life, does lead me to believe there is something to the fear of being a woman/adult expectations for some anorexics.

The large number of girls online who evolved from ED to being a munchie is pretty shocking. It’s like a new phase in the ED cycle and SM seems to have a lot to do with it. Posting skeleton photos on SM now has blow back and lots of cries for getting treatment. However claiming physical illness gives them an excuse to remain pretty skinny and stops the calls for ED treatment. I think after awhile the attention from being “sick” takes the places of the ED in their psyche and becomes the primary behavior due to more reward and less flack.

I am not sure that such restriction will do anything much to stop such crazy, determined and frankly highly manipulative people from accessing whatever they want. They can order online, visit multiple pharmacies to stock up, get other people to buy stuff for them ... it would be easily done. You can mail order any drug you like from dodgy foreign pharmacies too. The problem isn't the availability of laxatives OTC, it's the fact that a tiny minority of people are batshit fucking insane. Any drug can be abused, it's the dose that makes the poison as the old adage goes.

It's also neatly avoiding the fact that the woman did this stupid shit to herself and her entire family including people who lived with her were too fucking dumb to notice and actually bought some entirely unevidenced cock and bull lunacy about her having terminal cancer instead.

For two years she had pretended to have terminal ovarian cancer, with her family only finding out she was suffering from anorexia nervosa after her death.

This community only has 2 types of people, and neither are the actual bmi 10 girls hooked to feeding tubes, even though they like to pretend they are. ANA COACHING SERVICES. It's exactly what you think: a "professional ana" coaching you on how to be anorexic. And since this coaching usually involves sending pictures of your nude/nearly nude body to your coach, the community is riddled with a huge amount of pedos pretending to be coaches so they can get CP from those girls. Who could've seen that coming?
Anyway this group is actually the dumbest there is, even for teen girl levels. They all somehow have the worst parenting imaginable.
