I think it's just her being annoyed at this fan for caring at all, cause let's be honest, it's not going to matter in the show. Vivzie probably just mentioned it because it makes his motivations more ambiguous then "muh girlfriend ded".

So I'm going to be honest, I can't be sure if Lily or Mikaila is formatting the comic. So forgive me for saying that some of the framing in this particular strip is actually, pretty decent. If the word bubles were slightly more arranged so the machine door was entirely the focus in panel 3 it would be extremely atmospheric. And honestly panel 4 is actually really good for the exact moment. The final panel is far too mood swingy with the kitchen timer joke in my opinion but honestly it almost fits.

And then this panel

is actually not bad and works pretty good.

Of course, one thing is to say is I know that immediately everything is going to be a "subversion of expectations" and no one is gonna freak the fuck out over an afront to Arceus, Man, and everything on the earth. So I'll just underline that if this sequence was in a horror webcomic it would be extremely perfect and I'd be hard pressed to find anything wrong with it other than it being drawn in a somewhat rushed fashion, but then I've never really been in any particular mood to try and talk about Mikaila's art and honestly am mostly indifferent to it, but thats borderline tangent.

Naturally I'm looking forward to the disappointment and usual frustration when the story snaps back to being a story that seems to almost resent it's audience that isn't the writer.

it honestly kind of hurt a little to be so positive about the comic

Holy balls, Bonnie hasn't even been properly revealed yet and already the stupid has shot up.

- No emergency shut down switch. As stereotypical as it is, most high end machines have them for numerous reasons.
- No double checking what actually went into your revolutionary, new age cloning machine (keep in mind, most scientists quadruple check stuff like this)
- A crappy joke thrown in during the creation of this homonculus. Seriously Lily, for someone who likes to take jabs at Marvels writing, you sure are taking notes out of thier book here, cracking jokes during an intense situation.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised, Lily isn't a good writer but hot damn am I happy to see the stupid being turned up a notch. That being said, the arts not too bad in this one, like @emmens said,. I suppose Lily let Mikalia put a little more time into this strip because of how much it's been hyped up. I do wonder if they changed Bonnies design at all? I hope they did, it made so little sense for so many reasons...but seriously though, that orange haired girl needs to be fired.

Well that had hardly any fanfare at all.
I recall a post where specifically lily said that Gardevoir did it because they noticed how sad lily was after the baby raltz was gone. as far as "Implications" go I doubt lily really thought of anything further than "cute babbu family addition." and I'll be really honest, I get the feeling all the "complications" of this whole situation won't even be dealt with on screen and we'll drop back to the whole barely functional slice-of-life stuff more or less instantly. Lily will likely just go "well my audience already knows the pokemon league rules that she's human so I'll just make that whole scene a single strip with Comic!lily reading it as a letter" because lily wants practicality rather than realism where this shit would likely be carried out in a court room since it's the first ass time a poke-human hybrid came into existence.

Oh also, one thing we're likely never gonna get in the comic is any pushback again Bonnie existing in a public setting. a human pokemon hybrid isn't exactly going to just slot in to human society with zero issue.

Ah, but remember, stories don't need to make sense, or be internally consistent.
The fact that the scientists don't behave at all like scientists, and that the whole situation makes basically no sense, is only something a hack writer would nitpick about.

I swear, the primary reason Lily shits on continuity, lore and whatever else she hates about writing, is primarily so that she can pretend that all the problems with her own writing aren't problems at all.

It's got sharp teeth, is a hybrid between two completely different creatures both biologically and anatomically, it was somehow born with a shirt, and it barely seems receptive given that it isn't reacting to anything upon it's birth. Shit the damn thing doesn't even make a sound.

Nope, it's just born the perfect precious daughter-u and Jerry will likely experience no genuine or long lasting hardships for this thing's existence.

Great writing.

Also, little detail, but I love how the professor lady is unnecessarily bitchy to the male professor when it was her incompetence and stupidity that lead to this even happening.

Can't wait for this abomination to do nothing except show how kind and awesome Jerry is.
