Yes sirree, my friend.

And we should read what that update got in store.

I'm gunna be real with you, and don't want to sound like an edglord or anything, but I legit think I'd rather get cervical cancer than read anything home stuck relayed ever again.

and being in the HS fandom was some of the best times I ever had fandom wise for a while. feelsbadman

I just want an episode 2 to the point and click game. It reminded me why Homestuck was appealing without actually having read past page 200. Now HS^2 is an alcoholic stepchild with trigger warnings and tranny dicks?

I can't even say they ruined something cus the fandom already did, but it pains me that they also ruined the game potential of this IP, which was quite high. Childish, yet mature. Simple, yet had some depth.

At least before the dating shilling started, and for every troll reveal it was "horny on main lmaooo! trans rights!".

I guess homestuck^2 update but you have cough up five bucks to their Patreon: https://homestuck2.com/bonus

I hate when they say oh you don't need to read it but if you want to know more about you got to buy it
I don't get why they're comparing paradox space comics aka bonus free comics and you have options to buy the physical copy with pay wall

It's even more confusing considering paradox space is supposed to be a "wacky unrelated series of short comics starring characters in situations they shouldn't normally be in" and this is very clearly something that's happening in the plot of the current situation though a few years in the past. It's like having a "3 years ago" flashback cutaway in a story and just slapping a paywall on it treating that whole chunk of story needed to fully understand the story you're trying to tell as "bonus content" when it's so blatantly not the case.
I fucking hate shitty business practices like this, and I'm absolutely elated the content has already leaked to the public. One less hoop for people seeking to understand just what the fuck is going on to jump through.

EDIT: Didn't notice this the first time but the fucking post where they claim to love fan analysis of ""their"" stories is such fucking bullshit given the behavior of some of the writers on social media towards fans not sharing their views on things. seems more like they only like analysis if it lines up with their analysis of homestuck.

Two little updates:
Don't know if this was posted or not but the move from "mspa.com" to "homestuck.com" broke a shit-ton of the pages of games and animations. They put up YouTube videos as a replacement (I assume, for dribble shekels) but some pages have no replacement and are essentially just GONE.

Homestuck discussion on 4chan seemed utterly dead before the release of Homestuck 2. /co/, /vg/ and /v/ never had threads; the move to /vg/ never happened. The closest thing to a general was on /aco/ which is as hilarious as it is sad. That's 1 (one) positive of Homestuck 2.

Which is a damn shame. Hopefully the porn continues to stay.

I feel like Homestuck is plagued by the same problems a lot of IPs are today-- jumping the shark because a bunch of assholes who aren't the original artists tried to expand on it solely for money, or because it simply went on too long. Game of Thrones was good, and then they ran out of books to adapt and starting filming fanfiction. Star Wars was good, but they couldn't just leave it at the original three films because it was too profitable. Harry Potter was good (or so I've heard, I've never read it) but then the author lost her mind and Twitter and started letting other people publish glorified fanfiction. The Simpsons was a great show until all of its good writers left around season eight.

Why are content creators so terrified of fucking closure? Of ending one story and starting a new one? The moment the credits were posted, everybody involved should have moved on to something else. Peoples' inability to just end stories completely makes fans hate even the original good parts. I'm sick of Star Wars now. Game of Thrones just depresses me, because I know George will never finish the original books and the only ending we have is the fucking trainwreck HBO shat out.

Endings-- good endings, not always satisfying ones-- are fucking important. Half of the reason things like Breaking Bad and Back to the Future are still held in high esteem is because they fucking ended before things could feel hackneyed and repetitive. The ending to the Sopranos wasn't satisfying, but at least it was an ending with a solid artistic purpose, and thanks to that, the show never jumped the shark and still has a good reputation. Endless sequels don't "add" anything-- they erode away good will towards the original works in the series.

Also shoutouts to the unironic Homestuck discussion here lol
Yeah, I think this is something we've probably had our fill of in this thread. The more important thing (in the context of the thread) is that the people involved are lolcows, all of whom are either lazy, terrible at writing, social justice speds, or some combination of the three.

If you want to talk about your favorite character or who you think is cute or whatever, take it to Reddit. Most of the people here have read the original and understand the incongruities with the characters. All of the characters have gotten bastardized in some capacity-- that much is a given. We know John, Roxy, and Vriska were never intended to be trans and that nothing in the original comic indicates that they would be.

tl;dr: Kate spent the whole day rambling how they are a mirror of (trans) Vriska and shitting another antagonist's fanbase on how Gamzee was a horrible person for creating Tavrisprite (the Homestuck equivalent of fusions), because it made Vriska experience gender disphoria. It did not go so well and ended with Kate deleting all of their tweets.
Is this the power of California? (EDIT: before someone doesn't get the joke Seattle isn't there)
So basically what I took out of this is that he (yes he) thinks delusional men who call themselves women can do whatever the fuck they want with no consequences.

She pushed a guy she liked off a fucking cliff and later killed him, mind-controlled her friend until she committed suicide, and blinded her best friend. None of that shit would suddenly be okay solely because she had a penis? Which she doesn't anyway, so it's a moot point.
