I know this sounds very inconvenient to hear, but you're pretty much on point. A few of those patreon paychecks later, he basically sat back and went into spoony mode. Playing with his nintendo labo or some shit. Compare that to when he started using patreon and did all these schedules for videos. As clumsy as he was at keeping them, he at least more or less had them.

It's why i refuse to support anyone with that type of service. I've noticed that once you get enough people who just put auto renewal on and forget, it quickly becomes a glorified disability check that's easily taken for granted. If you look at someone like Ssethtzeentach, he charges his patrons per video, but if he uploads one that he deems lower quality than usual (like his latest Evenicle review) he won't charge for it.

Jim's proven with the Sonic trailer and Patreon demonitization videos he can make entertaining videos in 1 day, he's just lazy as hell.

Eh, I like Jim's content, but if there's one thing I dislike most, it's his voice. It's not terrible, and it might not even be his fault if his mic is anything to gauge by, but his voice is very scratchy.

There's the niche. You need a carefree drama commentator with charmingly bad editing skills, and a nice, sultry voice.

I'm glad other people are noticing the patreon content death spiral that seems to affect so many people who make videos. I think in most cases it's literally a case of people successfully chasing money, and self optimizing their work to cash flow ratio. The content they used to produce for fun becomes a job, so they do less of it, and instead do easy shit and jerk off their paypigs for neetbux.

This is where I have to disagree with you here Toad Mickinely fills that niche pretty nicely besides Null and he operates like Jim. Puts out content seldomly, but when he does its pretty good his video on Chantel is very good and drips with the casm.

Josh isn't immune to phoning things in or just getting bored. This week's stream was pretty lame because nothing really piqued his interest that much and he only streamed because he felt like he was obliged to do it since it's a weekly thing now. Though in Josh's case running the site is more of a priority for him than streaming, so he has more of an excuse for not making kahn-tent as consistently.
