That, and - due to his arrogance - Arin would totally lord that sudden influx of attention over the other person's head from that day forward (past comments on the Grumps and that weird flex he did on Twitter months ago paints him as that sort of jerk).
I've made this comparison before, and I'm gonna keep making it until the show dies and it all comes full circle: it is ASTOUNDING how close the parallels and fall from grace between Arin and Maddox is. Like really think about it for a second.
Both started off being considered pioneers for each of their respective genres, both abandoned what made their stuff work for awhile due to neither route being financially feasible, they then take on a more successful person to create a show that gets them so much fame and adoration for a year or two, before both co-hosts have a falling out, resulting in one trying to haphazardly continue the brand further than it was ever meant to go, while the other - despite how """controversial""" he was - has gone on to be far more successful than any thing else the other has done, and is
still as successful to this day.
Meanwhile, the other dude tries
and fails miserably to make an entire network based off of a group of friends/members of the old show, and one by one everyone from the old show starts to leave after they realize how bad things really are and how creatively stunted things have gotten. And any potential new hires are either people trying way too hard to kiss ass or recognize the shitty situation they're in but realize they can't get out, and as a result look dead inside. And slowly over time - as more shit starts to come out of shit going on behind-the-scenes - everyone starts to realize that this autistic character the dude's been putting on for years wasn't actually a character: that was actually how he acted IRL.
The other dude, recognizing the show can't continue like this, tries and fails to break out into other avenues like creating books and other forms of media that don't do nearly as well as the old show once did, but still lauds over people how they're the number one bestseller in their genre, when the reality is no one gives a crap. Then finally: bitter about his old co-host and old show's success, he tries to slander him publicly to no avail, disavow and pretend anything he did that was considered edgy never happened (and will even retroactively make sure of that by altering his own content and further pissing off his old fans), and just go full-on SJW and try to shame and blame anyone who disagrees with him, all while in private talking about how he actually feels to people he thinks are his real friends.
When in reality, everyone even remotely following him or acknowledging him these days is only there for the sole purposing of laughing at him, not with him.
And also something something they both have super childish and horribly organized rooms in their "offices".
