It is utterly irrelevant to the actual question asked. It wasn't "Have you ever been in court" it was "Have you been in court for reasons related to this case".

IANAL but from my perspective this should be entirely irrelevant unless you are somebody trying to shittalk Vic with every little thing. From what we saw he likely was barely involved in that case 20 years ago as in he seemingly went to that lawyer told him what's up, got told he should settle soon after, agreed and it basically never really came to a head anywhere. So for the purposes of "Does this set a precedent" this is a clear "No"

It's... not even to establish a pattern of that. The point is not "He was in a prior lawsuit, therefore he has a history of frivolous lawsuits" its "He was asked if he had been in court for a related issue tot he case, and he was in a case yeeears ago for something completely unrelated, therefore he lied". Its utter madness, and utterly unconnected from reality.

It's a pretty generic question. I wouldn't be surprised if they just ask it in every deposition. Lemonhead had a bunch of categories of questions but instead of starting out with the usual foundational questions, he'd ask a couple from one category and then jump wildly around trying to throw off Vic. It makes him just look like a sleazy asshole in context but of course the point is to get your cheap gotcha moments.

It's in the texts too, Soye says that Monica and her agent are contacting other conventions in order for them to drop Vic. He also claimed knowledge of multiple other cons that had already dropped Vic and could make a list on ~22nd Jan before conventions had announced anything.

Realistically, Chupp would try to act consistently to his ruling and thus i see it playing out like this.
Marchi gets all her fees.
Funimation gets the same amount marchi gets.
Moron only get the fees associated with filing the TCPA. They played stupid games and dragged out the case with the deposition, so thats on them to pay.
Sactions will be minimal, mostly for the improper filing.

As optimistic as I want to be, I have a bad feeling about this. Knowing Chupp, anything can happen, so if I was the Kiwi, I would lower my expectations.

I'll bet 500 reaction points that Marchi gets 100% of fees, everyone else gets ~25% reduction in what they asked for, and sanctions come in around $25k-50k. No sanctions to Ty himself for boomering.
(I don't know if each defendant is supposed to get sanctions awarded under TCPA, or if it's 1 sanction applied to the plaintiff as deterrent. I'm assuming it's 1 sanction total, if not then that number gets multiplied.)

My best guess, reduced fees, but sanctions that, when added to the fees, equal the fees total. Maybe a bit more than that for good measure.
