With the proviso that no expert is any better than their actual abilities, yes. Your statement has the unhappy property of anointing self-promoted experts and dismissing valid points made by people without such pretensions. Shit like that is how you get assholes like Maddox telling the masses that only he can crack edgy jokes.

That said, most of the time, the expert is an expert and the random dude is full of shit.

Restaurants make a lot of profit on soda, if they can fill half of your cup with just ice that’s even more profit. I don’t understand why people like ice water though, it’s too cold and hurts my teeth

I mean that's true, but I've seen people adding a shitton of ice in a huge glass of water even when they're home, so obviously your average American loves ice.

The fashion began in the early 1840's with the Wenham Lake Ice Company, from a Massachusetts lake which produced ice of startling clarity and purity. Pretty soon they were all the rage in Britain too.
