Amy, 31, and Tammy, 32, weigh 406 lbs. and 605 lbs. respectively. Amy and her husband hope to start a family soon, but are struggling to get pregnant. Tammy has moved in with them following her last hospital stay and requires their help with everyday tasks.
The sisters, who are also YouTube stars, will be chronicling their weight loss journey throughout the six-part series, documenting doctors’ appointments, healthy eating challenges, and revealing the final decision about their surgery.
“I’m ready to cancel the surgery, I don’t see us going forward with it with the progress you’re making right now,” warns one of their doctors in the exclusive clip.

It captures them perfectly. Immediately having Tammy telling Amy to shut up and then Tammy being the one who doesn’t lose weight: it’s like a well lit extension of their YouTube videos with improved sound coverage. It’s like our gorls are growing up
Also I’m proud of Amy for losing a bit, it’s been noticeable in her videos lately. I never thought I’d see it.
ETA: Maw slaton’s appearance was perfect. She basically shit on their whole weight loss parade while sitting in her own bariatric wheelchair. It’s a good 5 second insight into how they probably grew up.

One of the things that makes My 600 Lb interesting is the fact they actually show where and how the fatties live. (Until they haul them to Houston and put them into a rental unit) This show has hosed off the Slatons, applied make-up and shoved them into some staged condo which removes about 90% of any reality we were going to ever get out of this show. We already know they script and story board all the dialogue and outings, so filming them in condos the production team set up is disappointing.
One of the best things about the Slatons was seeing them in their hovels. Either leave them in their actual homes to film or take them to LA to film. Leaving them in Kentucky, but stuffing them in some generic condo to make them more palatable and less offensive to cable viewers is just the sort of decision I expect from a show that’s trying to pretend they aren’t exploiting the massively stupid and fat hillbillies.

But seriously I’m stoked to see what a rollercoaster it’s gonna be. It kinda bummed me out that maw Slaton isn’t even trying to encourage them (particularly since Amy made progress) but I can’t say I’m surprised.The cynic in me knows it won’t last either but I’d love to be proved wrong.

I see Maw! Wonder if Dustin is gonna make an appearance?
Tammy is tard raging. Nothing new there. I think the best part is getting to see Hammy walking around outside with the walker. We don't really get to see much full body Tammy. We don't get to see much full body Amy either. And she is so round that it's like the boulder from Indiana Jones grew limbs and came alive.
I do think Amy lost some weight. Not a lot. But she looks slightly smaller. Tammy on the other hand looks the same to me. Maybe worse.
I can't wait to compare the show with what we already know. I hope we get one of those introduction monologues like on My 600 lb Life.
Seeing Amy in that sports bra made me nauseous. Why would you wear that to the gym at that size? It reminds me of those supersized toddlers you'd see on Maury always dressed with their guts hanging out. I bet the producers told her to wear that. I remember that deleted workout video. Amy was wearing the same thing.
I think Tammy definitely failed. Her current efforts are probably an attempt to diet that obviously isn't working. She has got to be cheating. No one stays 600 lbs if they are following a reasonable weight loss plan. Girl is stuffing her face every waking moment. If Amy somehow manages to get down to a Slaton version of thin Tammy gonna be jelly. Then she gonna eat that Jelly 'cause she fat.
It's both amazing and horrifying to see the Slaton Sister in high def. I am so used to blurry carmas and bad sound that it's like seeing them reborn.

The “surgery” is just the pretend positive goal so they can film these fatty freaks. I don’t think Amy or Tammy get any surgery, except a leg amputated from diabetes in a few years.
Amy will maybe lose a bit of weight, make minimal progress and Tammy just gets fatter. At the end of the season it will be framed as Amy “making progress for her surgery approval” and Tammy a big old failure, with lots of hijinks inbetween!
if the ratings are good enough for a second season they will probably get a bit more serious with Amy for a surgery story arch season. They can’t film two fatties totally failing for consecutive seasons. Any will have to deliver the WLS drama for a second season.

I thought so too. Bananas in miracle whip and rolled in peanuts would require way too much effort for Tammy and Amy to expend. It’s also way too sophisticated for a Slaton meal. We’ve all seen those boxed cake and disastrous fudge recipes for too long to know the Slatons don’t eat anything unless it comes with simple instructions and with half of the “ingredients” already being pre-made.
