Gonna assume that the whole slap dash way they hooked up ensured no carefully planned immigration process was undertaken. Obviously no financee visa before she arrived, and then she moved in and was knocked up in pretty short order. Idk if they were married before, during, or after the pregnancy but I’m sure it caused enough upheaval that details weren’t really paid attention to.

Given that it appears things had gone to shit within the first 18 months of the relationship Rich probably suddenly started dragging his heels about being her spouse-sponsor and helping her obtain a spousal greed card. Once someone signs on the doted line to be a spousal sponsor they are on the hook for them for five years. If Rich was already having doubts about the relationship I’m sure he hated the idea of sponsoring her for a green card and started procrastinating.

The fact he could keep a tighter leash on her due to not having papers and a DL was just an added bonus as things got worse. This is probably why he felt safe going to Utah for some young Mormon poon and leaving her at home with the kid.

It sounds like she’s here on an expired tourist visa and has been trying to get a greencard via her marriage. So if she does take off back to Canada she will never be allowed back in the USA. They say it’s a ten year ban but they never let ppl back in once the ten years is up. I have dual citizenship. My mother had to apply and pay a fee to have me 'registered' with her native country once I was born, but she did it basically in case something like this happened between her and my father. I don't know if all countries are like that, but I'm inclined to say if they didn't do anything, the kid is American only. Which is another extremely stupid move on this womans part. That's going to make custody nice and complicated for her, if she tries to go back to Canada.

Her daughter would only have dual Canadian citizenship if Ashli submitted an pretty lengthy application to the Canadian Govt for it. Seeing as she couldn’t even get her own paperwork sorted Im going to assume little Sloan (did they really name her after FBDO?) is not a dual citizen, just a plain old American for now.

Sounds like she used getting knocked up as a reason to never leave Richard’s side again. I’ve known lots of pregnant women. Some get nasty sick for the first few months.
