"Jurisdiction" in the context of its usage means that they've submitted themselves properly to the authority of the United States, meaning they have to be in the country legally, not just have snuck onto US soil before plopping out the squalling anchor. Illegal-spawn are not citizens.

Short answer is that birtherism lets you outright disregard Obama as legitimate. The fact that he's black/the other ties into that.

It is also easier to sell to the idiot masses who are already triggered by a black man with a foreign name being President.

Also, the Russian stuff is full-tilt revenge not only for the birtherism stuff but also for the eight years the Democrats were taking it up the ass and then some under Bush, as far as an entire generation of Democrat operatives (and those still around) still having PTSD over remembering how powerless and castrated they were under Bush after 9-11 gave him immunity from criticism and +50 charisma in terms of evoking 9-11 to get his way. The irony is that Trump doesn't need ALL of the Black Vote.

All he really has to do is peel off just enough of the black vote to butt-fuck the left, since all of their political math these days involves strategies that factor in getting ALL of the women, minorities, and gay votes to form a superblock to give them a super majority. A strategy that is utterly retarded in that it explicitly requires ALL of those group voting Democrat and don't fucking factoring in ANY portion of them saying "fuck you" and voting Republican.

He just needs to get enough votes from black people that he can kneecap the Democrats with their demographic math scheme, because the Democrats math falls apart if ANY portion of the black vote (or other minorities or women and gays) goes the other way and votes GOP.

As @DanteAlighieri pointed out, if enough of them stay home it would sink the Democrats. There's also the possibility of him flipping the white vote in the Rust Belt and possibly even in the Northeast (excluding New York, Massachusetts, and possibly New Jersey due to Manhattan and Boston)

"Demographics is Destiny" is very much a meme, and it may be a discredited one in due time depending on how things play out in 2020 and the decade after.

I get what it's supposed to mean, but just because an immigrant group is non-white, it does not mean they can't eventually be flipped against the Left later on.

I think if the Republicans can flip the Rust Belt and enough of the Northeast and the Democrats alienate enough of the Asian demographic to make them into a swing vote, the DNC won't get their super-majority.

Also, a lot of the border states have Voter ID laws and aren't too keen on undocumented immigrants going on gibs.

Of course, California is the obvious major exception to the rule.

Sure, I agree with that and the numbers pan out so far for that being the case. It makes sense after all, economic class is always going to have more of an effect than racial differences.

The problem with saying that "demographics is destiny is a two*-way street" is that it isn't. You're not accounting for the fact that much like how Californians move to places such as Austin and turn the area blue for the forseeable future, the people who come from places such as Mexico bring their baggage with them.

This isn't a race thing. It's a cultural thing, and the demographic with that culture is being imported by the hundreds of thousands every year illegally. Nobody's helping a shitload of eastern europeans get brought into the U.S.

Now he dropped that bow tie that make him look like your milquetoast preppy college republican fuck and is definitely a upgrade over BIll O'Reily. Even Kyle from Secular Talk found some common ground with him so he can get cross appeal viewers outside the fox news media bubble.
