Destroying potential and turning it into shit is an impressive talent at Disney-Lucasfilm... Apparently the book even contains the "secret recipe" of green titty soymilk and blue soymilk. But I'm willing to bet that said recipes are actually simplified and altered since its likely that Disney's crappy soymilk is some chemically pre-prepared gunk pumped out of a rusty machine and such a thing wouldn't be easy to replicate by human standards. Also I think I remember posting in this thread that one of the known ingredients is some kind of coloring or flavoring agent that causes severe allergic reactions.

If you want I can try and find if anyone's posted the contents of the book online (or find someone willing to share screenshots of it) and post it here for us to either laugh at or tear apart. From what I've been told, its mostly 80% vegan shit, 18% DisneyEU lore and 2% shitting on fans and fan requests. For example one of the books lore entries references Shadows of the Empire and Xizor, which apparently is something that fans have been asking Disney to recanonize or re-adapt, but the book quickly just shits on it and the people asking for it and then goes on further to say that its just a "silly legend" (as in a reference to Legends, get it?!). Then again Xizor wouldn't fly in today's politically correct climate. A flirtatious womanizing prince with pheromones that can force women into consenting while also having a female droid sex slave would be an absolutely sexist no-no in Current Year.

The part that makes this especially confusing is that they keep doing this shit, the movies they're doing it with keep failing, and no one seems to suffer meaningful consequences for it. At other companies I've worked at, I've seen heads put under economic guillotines for infinitely smaller fuck-ups than Hollywood's shown recently, yet now there's studios that have rendered multi-billion dollar franchises unprofitable and no one has suffered meaningful consequences.

It's like they've stopped trying to make money with these things and are focusing entirely on trying to drag anything that could possibly give people something to care about into the streets so it can be sacrificed on the altar of shitty media, knowing full well that it's going to fail just so they can have the pleasure of destroying it.

It really is baffling with star wars. The common observation with Disney wars is that they wanted to basically remake the trilogy and be able to merchandise all the classic stuff from star wars (x-wings, stormtroopers, ties). This makes perfect sense but they could have always done this with spin offs set in the OT era. People would have loved it like they loved R1. Meanwhile they could have done a smartly crafted Sequel trilogy that logically built on the story of the OT, and also brought new worlds, ships, and characters to the table. Hire one coherent creative mastermind (not Rian Johnson), and used Lucas story outlines and bring him on as creative consultant. Maybe leave a 2-3 year gap between trilogy installments to ensure quality and build star wars up as premium event film just like it was in the PT era.

Star Wars would be in an incredibly stronger position if they had gone this route. Sure there would be haters and complainers like there always are but I dont there would be full fledged fandom civil war and cratering interest among normies like we have today.

The only rational explanation is that the original creators have some sort of sweetheart deal with the studios which the studios would rather they didn't have, so they fuck the franchises into the dirt to make way for new ones that they have total control over and no obligation to part with any of the profits. A bit like how in the world of vidya, EA buys up developers (Origin, Westwood, Bioware, Bullfrog, Maxis) to get their IP then fucks said IPs into the dirt, upon where they can create a serial numbers filed off version of the franchise later and grab all the money for it.

No idea. But I always took the claims from Doomcock's "source" with a grain or spoonful of salt, especially since his source originally claimed that Palpatine wouldn't be in the movie, only appearing as a hologram despite all the other leaks saying otherwise. Whether Doomcock's source is full of shit or he is simply the victim of inconsistencies caused by reshoots constantly changing things is anyone's guess. But in regards to Doomcock's more recent rumors like the "Secret Skywalker", I really haven't heard anything proving it or disproving it.

To get into really deep territory as to the why, it’s because human beings want meaning in their lives, it’s not all just about fucking, eating, sleeping and shitting, we want a higher purpose.
