In fairness, the DSM's definition is a bit more complicated than that:

In adolescents and adults gender dysphoria diagnosis involves a difference between one’s experienced/expressed gender and assigned gender, and significant distress or problems functioning. It lasts at least six months and is shown by at least two of the following:

1. A marked incongruence between one’s experienced/expressed gender and primary and/or secondary sex characteristics
2. A strong desire to be rid of one’s primary and/or secondary sex characteristics
3. A strong desire for the primary and/or secondary sex characteristics of the other gender
4. A strong desire to be of the other gender
5. A strong desire to be treated as the other gender
6. A strong conviction that one has the typical feelings and reactions of the other gender

There's a separate diagnosis for children, but it's similar, just with "wearing dresses" instead of genitals.

That said, your average transtrender hasn't even gone past an initial consultation with a psychologist, so it isn't like they'd have a diagnosis anyway.

There are some "honest" people out there, who have an issue with their gender. I think some of that probably is on a biological level. It's a medical and mental condition. They usually just want to "fix" that and live their life - that's fine.
I would also say most of these people are gay men, who are attracted to other men or very butch women attracted to other women. It follows a pattern. They often get called Truscum.

But I completely draw the line at men who are sexually aroused by the thought of themselves as a woman, talk non-stop about girl dicks, perverted sex shit and claim to be "lesbians" - the classic AGP.
They often (but not always) claim they have no dysphoria, or that their "girldick" is great.
They have no interest in genuine issues facing biological females. Most even absolutely hate biological females.
These are the Troons.

If a person with delusions tells you that you live in a tree house with an octopus and a loaf of bread, do you pander to their delusion? Do you think it's reasonable to change your life for their delusion? Do we change the law and science to fit their world view? No. It's reasonable to assert they're delusional.

Yet we are at the stage where troons genuinely believe shit like this, this and this, you have handmaiden's like Dawn Butler Brent who want to bring in laws and policies like this and then you have men like Rhys McKinnon and Callum Mouncey, who think they're female and should play female sports.

The former, reasonable tranny balks at the troon latter's insanity and gets called a Truscum for their trouble, yet society is bending the knee to the troon.

I have no doubt it was a factor. I've heard of transbians getting preferential treatment from SJWs because being female, trans and a lesbian means they're triple minorities and hetero transmen getting shat on because straight men are "inherently privileged".

The uncomfortable truth is that it really isn't fair that you can't choose your gender, that such a defining aspect of our lives is out of our control.

My view:

gender dysphoria is a dysphoric disorder like any other. I think there’s probably a predisposition to the group of disorders then how they manifest is down to your individual environment (ie anorexia amd control/family dynamics.)

I think society pushes some fairly fucked up stereotypes around sex. Some men are quite feminine and some women are not maternal at all. That should be fine - we should all be free to wear what we want, the the jobs we are capable of and play with the toys we like while still being the sex we are.


some people have a fragile sense of self and are vulnerable - in girls this is often autism. It can be shit being a girl - being perved on, being weak, being expected to be nice. Puberty is shit for both sexes. Being Male these days doesn’t seem to be an easy ride either - men get demonised for all sorts of stuff. So I think kids who are vulnerable are groomed into this.

so gender dysphoria is real, in the sense that some people wish intensely to be the opposite sex. But ‘being born in the wrong body’ isn’t real. We aren’t decanted into bodies by angels who get it wrong sometimes. You can’t change sex.

in real life, we have some places and situations where we segregate by sex. Toilets, some medical things, changing rooms, etc. I’m sure men don’t want to be pissing in front of young girls and women in gender neutral toilets any more than women want to see that. Men and women need some sex segregated spaces for privacy and safety.

In short: people can’t change sex. It’s pointless and harmful to pretend they can. It’s a symptom of something broken in society

I think the issue is where troons et al want to "change" science and law.
We know there's male and female. But troons like Rhys McKinnon preach that there is no difference.
But we know there is. It's like having to confirm the flat earth theory because SOME people believe it.
I mean they've already wrongly conflated sex with gender. The gender obsessed doctors out there are grooming children to be smoothies basically. When it comes to the reality of life of earth being morphed to suit a small mentally ill percent of the population, I don't know if it can be compared to anything that's come before.
