He was essentially making the argument that wealth should be redistributed from the rich to the poor but the middle class shouldn’t have to do anything because they own less shit than the 1% does.

He was also arguing that just because socialists own iPhones and therefore continue to support/enable the industries that they decry for being oppressive doesn’t mean that they like/enjoy said industries or that they don’t care about the poor and working class for utilizing luxuries created from capitalism.

Except there are people who at least ATTEMPT to minimize their damage done to the environment and to human rights by riding their bike to work and only buying clothes from farmers markets or something. Even not having a mobile phone and just utilizing a old home phone goes a long way if you claim that you’re this super progressive socialist guy who wants to tear down capitalism.

It’s like the same argument that people give George Washington shit for because he preached all this stuff about freedom and equality even though he owned slaves by the time he died. You could try, you know, living without slaves if you actually stand by the things you apparently believe in.

I saw a page from this book. Its about how children can like whatever toys and clothes they want to. This is a lot like when people freaked out about the definition of woman being put on a billboard. It is a trap designed to make troons look uninged. they fall for it every time.
