Honestly when you think about it, the entire trajectory of the transgender movement and the reaction towards it has been super fascinating. I'd argue true peak transgender acceptance was 2014-2015. You'll find a lot of people from then in this very forum saying that if someone got hormones and surgery, completely went all the way permanently changing their body, the must be serious about it. Who would go to such extreme measures if they hadn't spent years thinking about it, felt indecisive, or were even just pretending?

The answer to that question is, horrifyingly, very many people apparently.

Pretty sure I've said exactly that and more than once. I'd still say that to some extent but I'd qualify it a lot more and with respect to the WPATH guidelines as they were originally implemented before just deciding cock chops for everyone with no regard for mental health or anything else.
