Rap Critic from Channel Awesome is the epitome of this. He charges fifty dollars on Patreon for a custom "review," puts out barely anything on his channel except for those paid reviews, and for their fifty dollars the poor patron gets a five or six minute video with almost no real content or "criticism". His recent video on "Parents Don't Understand" was almost nothing but him talking about the plot of the song and a bit of ass-kissing for DJ Jazzy Jeff. Oh, but check out his podcast, and his radio show, and his new movie podcast, and subscribe to his channel, and give him Patreonbux!

YMS isn't totally "niche," but he isn't putting out long reviews like Cyberbully or Amusement anymore, he's just doing glorified quickies and Sardonicast. Does anyone really care about his music? From the snippets I've heard at the end of his videos, he has a really weak, bad voice for singing and while he still can carry a tune the lyrics are emo or geeky. No idea how he got a song in Rock Band/Guitar Hero/whatever.

I would agree. I listened to an episode of Sardonicast and it's OK. It's not something I'd ever want to listen to unless I was looking to hear about a specific movie, though. I thought they had a good discussion about Joker but I don't even remember the other films talked about on that episode.

My advice to YMS would be to reduce the scope of what he does. I stretched myself out with KF and now I have a ton of projects I can't adequately support because it's simply too much.

Same. Adam is easily one of my favourite YouTubers, i am surprised to see a thread on him. I was aware he was a gay furry but defending beastiality? A shame. Also he needs to start making proper YMS reviews again. Last one i believe was his one on M. Night's "The Visit". I dunno about everybody else, but i have had enough of quickies. He needs to start putting the effort back into REAL YMS material, that's his best work.

His choice of words and editing in his proper YMS videos has, in the past, had me in stitches, the cool cat one was especially amusing. Of late though, i have ignored the quickies because as you say, there isn't much reason to watch. I was, until today, unaware he was disgusting at all. I haven't properly taken in the entirety of his words from the screencaps on OP, so i will go back and have a deeper read. Was a bit distracted the first time around.

In Rock Band, you could upload your indie song without Harmonix involvement (but only in the xbox 360, I think). It was similar to what happens with Steam nowadays where you can upload you shovelware anytime you want.

There aren't many studies because it's hard to find people who have experience and are open about it, much less the ability to study animals affected by it in the environment where it is occurring, not just for reasons of access, but the morality in letting the behaviour continue while you study it. We just get the screwed up end results when the animal is taken into care and retrained or destroyed (depending on the laws involved/how badly it's messed up). The best a quick Google brings up (rip my watchlist status after using these keyphrases) this (ctrl+f 'gender') in which a dog trainer says there isn't much difference between female and male dogs when accounting for dominant traits.

I don't know if I can entirely agree, for the reason that your value judgements seem to be based on what is natural/normal. Arguments from nature don't generally fly with me because I don't believe you can classify humans as being natural without extending that same classification to all of our various behaviors, 'deviant' or otherwise. If humans are natural then so is everything we do and the distinction becomes meaningless. If we aren't natural then from where does the argument from nature draw its impetus?

Oh I don't disagree that we shouldn't fuck dogs, but rather with the value underpinnings of his argument. I think the distinction between natural/unnatural is arbitrary and silly since in my view a "Natural" being must definitively be incapable of "Unnatural" actions or behaviors. Because then it isn't a natural being anymore since on some level it exists outside of the "natural framework" and possesses the capacity to subvert that framework.

Natural behaviour is no good without developed morality and evolved social norms to temper its capacity for excess and harm. The combination of these finds a consensus that is robust enough to find as many commonalities in what people don't accept as much as what they do, and those two tendencies form a strong social understanding that I see no point in eroding just in order to die on some ideological hill populated by freaks. This collective understanding is sometimes wrong and can be corrected (I don't long for the times when people were legally persecuted for their race or adult romantic partners), but this is rarely required. Normalcy may be arbitrary but its alternatives have given us drag queen kids and perhaps eventually dog fuckers, and modern society has shown very little capacity to actually improve based on all of its demands for "progress", quite the opposite, these lunatics tend to be more neurotic and expensive to support the more they get what they ask for.

If the 'interest' expressed by the individual is so ridiculous that cheap mockery will suffice then I would prefer that method.

Edit: I guess it says a lot that dogfucking is still a priority topic vs. what he is churning out. His long-form content hasn't been particularly interesting, and his commentaries in particular are of zero interest to me. Has anybody tried watching a film with one of his commentary tracks? I really get the feeling he doesn't want to do the reviews anymore but it provides him immediate monetary reward and exposure.

This is the first I'm seeing of this thread and it is kind of sad that he's a furry and seems to support bestiality. I enjoyed his reviews but now I'm just going to be thinking This dude fucks dogs. I'm sure there is more information in this thread but I don't have the heart to go through all the pages.
