KV isn't going to go after JYB. The core of KV is a bunch of fujos and JYB has never pissed off the fujos, ergo, he's not going to get the critical mass of people to see anything worse than the few randos lobbing accusations that'll get quickly shoved out.

I get a vibe reading their twitters that Vic wanting JYB to take over for him, and them being friends, or at the very least JYB not expressing the appropriate amount of KickVicness, has them on edge. He's not in the Texas Clique so Sabat and the MoRons can't really go after him directly, he's also much more popular than most of them, to boot. He also seems to have fans as rabid as Vic's.

In short -- I get the feel that some of them would really really like to broken staircase him, but haven't yet.

Which brings up a few things.

How pissed is Sabat that he didn't get to pick Broly's replacement VA?

Have the Funimation Texas Clique realized that Funimation went to California to replace someone? This, combined with Funimation (or rather, Sony) posting a shitload of Job postings in California / New York, had a lot of people thinking Funimation is about to purge Texas, or at least get to a point where they could purge people in Texas if need be.

Seething and worried. Aniplex knows how radioactive Texas VA's are so they won't draw from that pool. Aniplex also won't flex on conventions to support Jamie and Monica.

I imagine that is why no more accusations have come out. Funimation (and Rooster Teeth) are both getting hollowed out to be absorbed into other companies. Other companies that may not be sympathetic to their bullshit.

No one wants to make trouble while the entire industry is in upheaval.

I don't think Vic's core problem is that he was too "nice". I think the core problem is that he pissed off the fujos. This whole "there's been rumors about him for a decade" goes like this:
Rumor 1: Vic is a homophobe (this one started first and started the slide that everything else spills from)
Rumor 2: Vic is a diva and an asshole (this MIGHT actually be true, but more specific in target and not at all illegal or immoral)
Rumor 3: "something something, he's a biblethumper" (this is a bunch of butthurt atheists IMO)
Rumor 4: Vic is a pedo-rapist (this is newer, but even if we take ALL claims heard so far as gospel truth, #1. no one has had nonconsensual sex with him that I'm aware of and #2. he has not had sex with any minors; the "worst" that has been claimed is that he made "creepy advances" towards under age girls and backed off (or at least stopped) when they expressed denial)

The problem for Vic is that a LONG time ago, he got a bunch of gossipy people (fujos) to turn against him and the gossip has been snowballing for a long time to where people now claim that recent unsubstantiated rumors go back a long time because there's always been rumors. Ignoring the fact that the early rumors were completely different and could easily be dismissed as stupid.

The metoo stuff is a new trend. When the movement started a lot of people repurposed past events so they could have a big strong wamminz story to share. Here they took old pics and events to make him into a creeper.

Now, if true, is it creepy that he tried to bang a high school girl, yes, BUT according to the person's own story, once they said "no" he did exactly what a person is supposed to do and stopped.

Which is my biggest issue with the core problem here. My understanding is that based on EVERY SINGLE CLAIM made thus far: Is Vic overly affectionate? Yes. Did Vic previously have an issue understanding 'personal space' and boundaries? Probably. But did Vic recalibrate once the person made clear what their boundaries were? YES.

The biggest problem with the whole metoo climate right now is that men can be at fault for not respecting a VARIABLE line that also can move and shift at the whim of another person apparently WITHOUT any effort on the part of that person to express or explain what that boundary is. Men have historically been cast as the initiators of relationships, and you know what, that sucks. It's already painful both emotionally and mentally when you get rejected, but now we're going to throw potential LEGAL repercussions on there too, simply because someone is not 100% accurate on reading social cues and signals? WTF?

But that's my point. If Vic had come out swinging years ago (and he did try to combat the rumors in a way) then that would've just furthered their mental narrative of "he's a dick". The new allegations would be totally unchanged and the narrative that there's been problems with him for years is also unchanged. Because again, the "rumors for years" haven't been that he's a pedo-rapist, they've been that he's an asshole. Basically every KV staffer to comment has been saying "he was mean" not "he raped me".

But again, I'm saying the absolute WORST claims against Vic still seem to end with "...and then he backed off". I'm perfectly willing to be corrected here, but I don't remember any KV story that goes "... and then I let Vic know I was uncomfortable but he kept doing it". I feel like if the goal is to cast him as a true sex offender, we should at least make up a story where the assault continues despite the EXPRESSED discomfort of the victim. Because otherwise I can't believe these people survive at all in the seething mass of awkward social ineptitude that is the geek fandom scene.
