Say what you will about DeFranco, but there's a good chunk of his audience that views him as one of the more reliable news channels on yt. Because of this, I guarantee that there will be a LOT more people aware of this now. Not only that, but DeFranco has mentioned several times that he's friendly with some of the yt staff. Him talking about this might actually get a few people at yt HQ to start looking at this more seriously.

I'm also willing to bet that he will be quietly keeping an eye on this now. DeFranco has been very vocal about his personal hatred for people like Gurg,

Towards the end of the video where he's talking about how Onion has managed to keep his channel, DeFranco said that he doesn't "have an official comment right now", implying that he has asked about it. I'm curious to see what will happen if yt gives him the same corporate bs they've been giving Chris Hansen.

Some of the comments on the video have made me giggle. Worth a read if you have some time to kill. Some are even linking it to YouTube Rewind 2019 to show that yt has basically given up on caring about their community.

Good lord...reminds me of another twisted relationship, the creep from X-Files/Green Mile and that over-inflated 16 year old he married. She demanded thousands of dollars for one of her vapid interviews. Some radio station, I think, wanted to have her guest to "boost your [non-existent] career". When she said she wanted however many thousands, she was told they didn't have that kind of budget, she'd respond, "too bad, gimme money" basically. I know this is kinda tin foil hat territory, but hear me out. Literally hundreds of people on yt have made videos about him. Hell, some have made yt careers out of making vids calling him out. Many of them have monetization, even now. Yt has proven that they no longer care about their community and only care about money. If they tossed out one of the few people that pretty much everyone on yt hates, the amount of videos made about him will all but vanish, save for the occasional retrospective vid. Less incidents to talk about = less videos about Onision, which leads to less views, which means less money.

The more I think about it, the more sense it makes.
