A friend told me about this last night and I just shook my head. I'm not going to comment on the type of things Spotty draws because he and his wife draw the same things (I love their artwork in terms of looks and techniques) but at the same time I will say this in their defense ONLY: they gave so many warnings and disclaimers for about the entire year about it. It was pinned. They retweeted themselves constantly. I might not agree with it but they did their job and warned people. To me, they don't give off pedo vibes and it's just tantamount that furries can't into critical thinking. Just because you find it interested or fascinating or you like to draw it, that doesn't mean you condone it. You ain't gotta like it but that doesn't mean you should try to ruin someone's livelihood because you personally hate it if they aren't causing any trouble.

This is also pretty funny ignoring Spotty and Molten on it own because furries like to morally grandstand on the top of milk crates but then have anthro porn fucking feral animals and monsters and shit everywhere as well as legitimate pedophiles and sex pests roaming around in broad fucking daylight with dicks out. I'm really ambivalent with more taboo content because it's hard to discern if the person likes it sexually or not but from what I've seen, they don't exactly...announce that they wanna fuck little boy souls or whatever. It's a tricky subject because depending on location, a lot of places consider porn and even art or 'taboo' interests to be illegal. But when fantasy creatures come into it, it becomes a lot more harder to police.

This is it exactly. In the end, it's a fucking drawing but at the same time it feels strange to just cop out to that. I do remember them saying that they were abused sexually and this was their way of venting or coping with it. They didn't dismiss people who were uncomfortable but just said "I understand, you are more than welcome to unfollow" or something like that. It's just hilarious in a way that this shit is rampant but when it's a good artist, it's BAD. I just think calling them freaks is a bit much. Oh boy, I was wondering when people were going to bring up Moltengold and SpottyJaguar and Shatterstag and Whitemantis and the rest in that particular circle.

I have very mixed feelings on the situation; I've been watching them since before the incest stuff really kicked off and it's sort of weird to see the regression as they've gone from forbidden relationships with monsters/non-humans, to borderline bestiality, to borderline incest, to actual incest, to actual bestiality, to underage material. This was absolutely not an overnight decision based on profit; Spotty and Molten and the rest have been actively encouraging one another (and others outside their direct circle of friends) into exploring more and more taboo fetishes and it's definitely not just because that's where the money is. It's the same kind of regression we see in DD/lg groups, where one or both partners repeatedly push boundaries until someone winds up getting hurt or they start exposing other people to shit that should really just stay in the bedroom.

I still admire Molten and Spotty and Whitemantis's artistic merits, and they have indeed been warning people as time goes on about the sort of material they do. That's a definite point in their favor. The problem is that they're progressing and pushing boundaries they claimed to be firmly against in the past. Moltengold was talking big shit a year ago about how their incest material was fine because it was between consenting adults, only to announce recently (along with Spotty) that they're going to do underage stuff along with it.

Regarding the big question though; are actual IRL kids and animals being harmed by their work? No, of course not. It's still just art. As long as it stays just art I think the call outs and shit-flinging are redundant and obnoxious. People are going to jerk to whatever they want to jerk to, and the fact Molten and Spotty and the rest are being open about it at least provides other people to back out if they find it upsetting.

... But if we start hearing rumors of them meeting up with IRL dogfuckers or offending pedophiles in a year or two don't act surprised.

Spottyjaguar actually mentioned (not publicly) that they weren’t planning on making lots of underage art, but rather that they had stories with those themes, and that they were likely going to draw it more often than never, so they wanted to warn people.

However that’s not the way they pushed it out to the public, so I’m really not surprised they got the reaction they did. I honestly think that if they hadn’t said “underage sexual drawings are okay”, people wouldn’t have made the stink about they did. In fact I think even with the whole “trap” thing, people would have more or less forgotten about it.
