Honestly, it's because he's built this entire obnoxious edgelord persona and he goes above and beyond to try and invoke a lot of controversy and attention, which is why he's more infamous than other porn artists.

The uproar over Shadman is less about his art and more about how he presents it.

Like you said, there are plenty of people online who post really fucked up fetish porn art, but they usually don't go out of their way to attract attention to it and build an entire persona around it.

i think he had an inside with popular new grounds and youtube creators at a stage before popular main stream twitter porn accounts became a thing, i was introduced to him through sleepy cabin and thought he was just being "quirky" when i was young because of his overwhelmingly average personality. Appearing offensive for offensiveness sake is a lot more stomachable then being a fucked up fetishist who genuinely likes Ero Guro and younger women

It's not even a good take since a lot of established and experienced porn artists can go back and make something as cringe as Sonic but in a very appealing way, as to acknowledge their roots without going "xdddd sonic titty!".

I still believe that he's itching a niche of contemporary meme territory that he could benefit from immensely if he quit his "I'm only pretending" act. Make some Twitch streamer comic about a white knight getting it on with her in a real manga make-believe scenario. Literally anything but "titty!" being the punchline.

The biggest insult is him literally inventing a market and then not capitalizing on it.

Basically he started early on and got connected on Newground early on. He kept drawing popular characters for what a decade or more now. And there is always some random teen finding out cartoon porn. He is the McDonalds of cartoon porn.

Yeah, porn artists are a dime a dozen...but it's hard to consider him a dime a dozen porn artist, imo.

Honestly I'd chalk it up to him having a recognizable art style (though his style has several flaws) that separates him from the average porn artist and him essentially being that artist who was versatile enough to appeal to everyone's interests.

Aside from the fact that he makes gross porn of actual minors, his recognisable style and cashing in on the latest memes is about it.

Agreed. On the internet, porn is as easy to find as wood in a forest. Even with all the different fetishes people have, it takes something really special to stand among the thousands of trees, if you catch my drift. Even putting memes in your porn doesn't add any spice.

Minors in pornographic art is basically the same as actual child porn, so I wonder how long it'll be until Shad gets busted.

Unless you go full political very few people will recognize you but Shad doesn't do this he comments on topical subjects in his art the same way someone makes a passing Twitter post. His brand of art and content is rather normalized in the porn areas of the internet this he's lost that edge that will keep his audience around.
