Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

I hope Ryan Johnson does direct Mandalorean season 2. Warner Brothers just bought up nearly all the fucking anime which means Crunchy Roll is now fucked and will soon die and there will be now one streaming service for dedicated nerd shit. Johnson is probably the only person who could kill Disney+ by shitting all over their newfound moderate success.

And it's pretty fucking serious attempt because not only does the WB now have Studio Ghibli's whole catalog, they're wheeling and dealing to get shit made like more seasons of Everyday Life with Monster Girls and Dragon Maid and will premiere only on that service.

Mickey Mouse will be cucked by Bugs Bunny.

A second season of Dragon Maid?

You know I had a dream they brought back Azumanga Daioh, wonder if WB will do that?

So when do Bill Burr and his Twi'lek (hench?)woman show up? And when can I buy their action figures? 😆

With how well Mandalorian is doing, I'd bet we see a full wave of Mandalorian figures next year.

Hopefully they make us that Twi'lek. We still dont have a black series figure of Darth Talon or Aayla Secura.

Id doubt we see a Darth Talon with Disney in charge. They promised to never make Slave Leia stuff again.

So what now, Disney, you gonna kill Wicket too??‽!
Bitch best not. They kill Wicket and I'll get that Sith Dagger and shove it so far up Jar Jar's ass it will get stuck in his nose. I mean at least it looks like it belongs in an ass.

I grew up watching the Ewoks cartoon and being a huge ewok nerd. When I did the Star Wars rpg in the 90s I played an ewok Jedi.

Yeah. Let the nerd essences from that sink in.

Supposedly the movie starts with training on Endor so maybe we get lucky and Wicket eats one of porgs that were still on the Falcon.

To be fair Mickey Mouse always been a bitch to Bug Bunny since the 30ies. Same with Daffey Duck being the cuck to Donald Duck.
Disney has always been crap. Bugs Bunny is infinitely better than Mickey Mouse. Also, I watched some videos of Rise Of The Resistance and that ride fuckin' sucks. Why didn't they just build a Star Wars roller coaster? A Star Wars roller coaster with all the bells and whistles could have done them some good.

What I am really disappointed about is George Lucas. He was the independent guy who beat the big studios and made his own fortune.
Yet he sold out to them in the end and was naive and ignorant enough after all these years in the industry to not know that it's being run by literal Skeksis who would do anything just to mess up wholesome stuff.

I simply can't care about nuWars and the nuWars fandom in general. It's cringe and lame.

I am grateful for the goblins running and ruining entertainment considering I don't have anything to be a fan about anymore.

If the JediPaxis leaks are to be believed (and given that they've been pretty accurate so far) I'm suspecting that this Johnny Come Lately "General Pryde" will be another forgettable villain because apparently Hux is the mole inside the First Order!

Are your expectations subverted yet?

The only way they could be is if Rian Johnson blew his brains out mid-film.

I am going to defend Lucas here. From everything we know, this is in no way his fault.

The issue, at its core, for Lucas was that he is not getting younger and there was no one to 'take the flame' so to speak. No singular head at Lucas Films besides himself and thus Star Wars looked fit to die with him. So, he really only had two options:
1: Find someone to succeed him.
2: Sell to someone who could do it.

None of his kids wanted it, none of his staff were fit to take it, so it really only left 2.

Now, the obvious objection, "Well selling to Disney was a bad idea".
Well, then to whom? And it is not like Lucas just pawned it off willy nilly. He sold it to the person he had worked with before, someone he personally trusted. Bob Igor. Now, Disney gets a lot of hate in here, and not entirely without merit, but Igor is not at fault for Star War becoming a complete trash show, but we'll get to that. For now, all you need to understand is that Lucas had worked with and was friends with Bob Igor.

Now, before leaving Lucas wrote up what he had planned and presented it. Igor said they would take it on advisement, never rejecting or accepting it outright. To then ensure his will, Lucas made the person at the head of it be someone he trusted. Kathleen Kennedy. A woman who he had worked with for quite some time, who had a pedigree, and who was on good terms with Lucas. Someone who he believed would advocate for his ideas.

Now, here is where it comes together. Lucas has, at this time, given the franchise to someone he was given reason to rust, ensured there was someone high up to advocate for the films, and provided what he could to put the new trilogy on the right path. He has, at this point, done literally everything he could.

So, what went wrong? Well, its the same reason I need to preemptively defend Bob Igor. Kathleen Kennedy happened. Lucas had installed someone he thought eh could trust, and Igor saw someone who would make fairly 'standard' Star Wars movies to ensure they made bank on a costly purchase. Instead, Kennedy revealed her stripes as an ideologue and UTTER lunatic. She immediately made it clear she was not going to defend a single thing Lucas wanted, which Suited Igor who didn't want to take any of the Risks Lucas did, but then made every decisions possible that could piss of the fans,m which fucked over Igor.

Put simply, the fault lies not with Lucas, but with the woman who backstabbed everybody.

He had all the time and money in the world to pick up a younger himself, a movie geek to carry on his own legacy. The Rot with Disney starts at Iger the entire company is an agenda pushing megalomaniacally expansive entity.

With these people if you don't put something into the finest print in a legal document you can expect nothing. Just see how Robin Williams who was told "nah we won't merch the genie out much" was basically paid peanuts while Disney did exactly the opposite of what they told him.

Lucas had an outline for the whole new trilogy, but disney decided to give it to retards like jj abrams and the other guy. While updating it to current poz levels.

To post a dumb video that takes the pop culture stuff too seriously:

If that's true, I wonder why old Bob hasn't fired her yet?

Optics. Kennedy is one of the few female executives in the industry. Additionally, firing an executive in the middle of the uproar that came after The Last Jedi reeks a bit too much of bowing to pressure. All signs show that instead Igor has relegated her to executive in name only and assumed direct control until a replacement is found.

Kennedy's time is limited, Igor is likely simply waiting for a better time to and to have a better public reason. Like a major franchise film under-performing.

Which will be in about 70 years, past the life of Lucas. And will ensure that large films never happen again.
Okay hire a lawyer, put it in your will that when he dies the IP, Trademark all of that shit gets dissolved I am sure that a highly paid law monkey could figure out how to do it.

and..Large films not existing is a good thing, the Prequels and the Sequels were trash anyways.

It's all the more disappointing when you remember that Lucas began his career as a fiercely independent film-maker who came up alongside other independent film-maker friends and peers like Scorsese, Coppola and Spielberg. Lucas very much believed in the filmmaker as an 'independent arteur'. He took a paltry salary to make Starwars, just so that he could ensure that he retained the rights to his work and nobody could mess with his vision. Fuck, he even turned down studio money to make Empire and instead took an enormous risk and bankrolled the entire film out of his own pocket just to avoid studio interference....
.....and then he sold Starwars to hacks he spent most of his career keeping at arms length who did exactly what he always knew they would.

She doesn't have the Domino marks, her eye is just shadowed in that pic. But Disney and Chuck Wendig did bring Deadpool into Star Wars in the form of a very VERY obnoxious droid who is a queer and twitterized hipster version of HK-47 who I've talked about in length before.

Who is it supposed to be molesting in the image on the right?

Soy wars has : Kylo, snoke and phasma?
And the knights of Ren! I remember being excited about seeing them scheme against each other in ep. VIII and tie-in novels, picking a favorite, worrying about him or her... Ah, to be so young again.

You know its fucked when a character with about 15 minutes of screen time in a 20+ year old movie is more fondly remembered, and has more fan relevance, then the main characters of the newest trilogy.
I'm still assblasted about Zam Wesell's death. And she was a bit character in the worst main continuity movie.

Exactly. He is like the peace activist hippy who grew up to be a war mongering senator.

I used to wonder... what if Lucas got Spielberg to make a Star Wars movie. Or James Cameron. Considering Cameron got into film making due to Star Wars and he is very good at handling sci fi and effect heavy stuff, he would have been an interesting pick.

I'm kinda mixed on the Paxis leaks. He's gotten some parts right but others never really fit well with the other leakers. Like he got everything about D-O absolutely wrong and even claimed Rey and Leia would meet on sloth-titty planet, none of which was said in any other leaks. Then again, its possible he was just a victim of reshoot inconsistencies, so its likely that shit he said was in the movie but was changed or cut out.
The absolute state of Star Wars:

Me when reading through the Twitter thread and reflecting on it all:

Well its official, this movie will now be immune to any and all criticism if that shit shows up in the movie. And a good chunk of haters on r/starwars or shipping subreddits are only mad at Disney for not making FinnPoe a thing, so they'll probably go back to sucking mouse cock after this.

Ppl ship baby Hitler with Fug Face Kylo.....
Time for this rickety ship to set sail...
Set sail for Disney Land.png

Now, the obvious objection, "Well selling to Disney was a bad idea".
Well, then to whom?
FOX might've been the better option since they were bidding for it too. And if they had gotten their hands on the SW ip and Lucasfilm, they might have not needed to sell themselves to Disney with all the money that shit would've brought in (assuming they wouldn't fuck up worse than Disney).

Who is it supposed to be molesting in the image on the right?
A younger Porkins Snap Wexley, his creator.
I'm still assblasted about Zam Wesell's death. And she was a bit character in the worst main continuity movie.
At least unlike the shitty knights of ren, Phasma and Disney's other awful side characters, she got her fair share of spinoffs which ensured that she would get her own following.
Its a shame really since unlike the mediocre film she was created for, the spinoff material made you wish AotC hadn't fucked her over so lamely. Which again brings up the issue of what differs the Disney Trilogy from the Prequel Trilogy. The Prequel Trilogy ranged from meh, to shit, to just fine, but the superior spinoff material that spawned from it (minus the highly controversial New Jedi Order novels) kept interest alive and made sure the brand's reputation wasn't damaged beyond salvation and proved to be a smashing success for both it and the films. And it even managed to make you give a shit about characters that would amount to nothing in the prequels.

Meanwhile the Disney Trilogy has both bad films and even worse spinoff material with the exception of the Mandalorian which only came out near the end of the DT's run, whilst the rest of the DT-era is defined by Fart-huffing Wendig-tier novels, Marvel's unchanging nonsense, wokeness and laziness, and scam-tier gatcha mobile games with only 3 major games in 7 years which EA fucked up royally except for maybe the third which wasn't handled directly by them but still contained the usual formulas bogging down the Disney Wars narrative. And the films still couldn't produce any spinoff content to actually make you give a damn about their minor or major characters.

Hell, to say Disney's only problem is just "wokeness/feminism" is a huge understatement to all the many things they got and did wrong and how royally they fucked up in almost every field that it makes George's awful prequel decisions look tame by comparison. I mean their attempt at creating a Genndy Wars-equivalent for the sequels to try and raise interest ended up being a shitty disaster which we now know as the Resistance cartoon. So now they have to try and rely on Disney+ mini series shit focused on the past to try and salvage this mess. The only reason they're probably making that stupid Andor show is another attempt at salvaging the sequels, but honestly who would give a fuck about such a character at this point? Not like he amounts to anything before dying since the show only takes place less than a year before his death in RO.
