Well, to be fair the historical Himmler was such a sweetheart (okay, he slaughtered some millions of people, but he was sorry for it he said as much to me) while historical Dirlewanger was really that whoreson scum (still a brutally efficient commander tho), so maybe it's just keeping in character idk

It was more of less the byproduct of his lack of leadership. He just was that one edgelord who was given option to do his thing without repercussions, and met shitty end one way or another for it. The more he sees people angry, the happier Dirlewanger is. So why give him the notoriety he/she/it craves by banning him from anything? Would YOU want to live Dirlewanger's life? Fuck, no!
