spousal privilege is still a thing, but even if you get divorced you can still refuse to testify about anything that happened during the marriage.Minor passing thought, but still slightly amusing to me.
His whole fake divorce bullshit reminds me of that thing where spouses can't be forced to testify against one another - that's still a thing, right?
Let's say he actually does divorce his wife, they both lose that layer of protection. I can honestly see Onion thinking this is a good idea so he can flip the script and point the finger at Plainey as the fall guy, but what would there be to stop Plainey from doing the same thing? Or doing it first? The fake divorce angle is going to backfire spectacularly either way, but it's just something to chuckle about.
even so, i think it would be more likely that if charges happen, they’re both gonna turn on each other if it means they get a lesser punishment in return. grog can lovebomb all he wants now, but if it comes to his ~ spouse ~ getting arrested along with him he’s gonna label her an unreliable criminal just like all his exes.
