Dudes are also generally raised these days being told it's vital for their romantic partners to share their interests and hobbies. From personal experience I've come to the conclusion that that's bullshit. Get yourself a girl who will cook for you and is into makeup and clothes and other stereotypical girlie shit. You can support each other's hobbies without being into the same things.
The "nerd girl" scene, whether it's video games, comic books, DnD, whatever is full of predatory grifter women, mentally unstable women, and massively egocentric women who are used to being a big fish in a small pond, and most of them have no career or domestic skills whatsoever. And the women who aren't like that are taken. Or fat, which if you're into that more power to you, just keep in mind that fat chicks can also fit in the above categories of awful.
In short, your manic pixie dreamgirl fantasy is fake and gay. Hollywood lied to you. Get your head out of your ass and look at things realistically before you end up like Holowka, betas. /rant

• Alec's twitter still exists and is still protected, 3 months later. Would love to know who he was friends with and what the final tweets were. It's stuck in that special kind of limbo where no one is messing with it right now, and it could still be combed through for anyone who was lucky enough to have access back then.

Danny Baronowski, extremely talented musician behind the Crypt of the Necrodancer/Cadence of Hyrule rhythm games/ soundtracks. Not only are they both banging soundtracks, they're cleverly composed to add/remove resonant accompaniments depending on how well you're playing, so they're much more alive.
He's definitely an indie darling and blows Toby Fox & Alec both out of the water musically in my humble opinion. Knowing that they were twitter buddies for a long time explains why Chelsea was featured prominently in one of the Crypt of the Necrodancer's promo videos(playing it on a DDR pad rigged as a controller for it, poorly, at a convention) that you can still see on youtube/Steam store page. Nothing truly new or developing, just a little extra info for context and relationships. So much of the twitter ass-kissing was from real nobodies, it's interesting to realize this was actually somebody. Also would be interesting to see if it turns out Danny raped and killed a string of women behind an Arby's® when he's no longer useful to the indie women a few years down the road.

Anyone involved in the games industry with an opinion on Zoe Quinn in either direction (though especially if that opinion is favorable, for obvious reasons) should be discounted out of hand when they express said opinion. The games industry is incredibly incestuous and cancerous with patronage and cronyism. This would be marginally fine if it were also a meritocracy, as then it would at least be on par with nearly every other big business in the West. I only single out the West because I'm ignorant as to how things operate in places like Moonland. But with things as they are you can't trust anyone who makes games, or writes about games, when they make claims like "Zoe is one of the best people I know" because of the parasitism involved between the two fields. Very few games or developers can generate and sustain the level of hype machine expected by shareholders nowadays. Journalism is tied to and implicit in things like Zoe Quinn persisting, which is sad in her case in particular because such a connection is what touched off Gamergate to start with before in ballooned into the caricature it eventually became and getting blamed for everything from mass shootings to the election of a United States president.
If a Games Person is talking about the industry in any capacity other than the games themselves you should just mock them publicly and tell them to choke on their opinions, and even then you should at least read things with a critical eye.
I can't wait until Daddy Musk bankrolls some gadget that lets me beam pornography directly into my occipital lobe so I can finally leave this cesspool of a hobby behind. I'm sick to death of it no longer being about socially awkward misanthropes who coded cool things in their basements and just want people to play them.
