I love when people talk about how outdated/bigoted 90's-00's TV shows and movies were. It's not like the 1800's-early 1900's where many black characters were unironic stereotypes, it's that they were allowed to push the envo

Take Daria, which is basically a period piece of 90's-00's liberalism and identity politics. There's a character who's a pervert and it's played for laughs. There's also a couple episodes with sexual predators that are done 100% for comedy. This show was considered extremely feminist, but now things like that pedo substitute teacher scene would be problematic as fuck. It even attacked the far-left sometimes.

Meanwhile these people talk like we're pushing boundaries nowadays. There was a 1994 episode of Boy Meets World (one of the most popular family sitcoms at the time) giving advice on teen sex. The 90's weren't the 50's, they were just allowed to have more fun than now.
