I think I found out what they're on about, that one tweet, I think it was the one about Ty's pants, is on Reddit front page on a sub about Black people Tweets.

I mean that is about as meaningless and sad of a reason for them to be excited as it is to be expected of them so that may just be it.

Kevin Stone, the guy at the Sons of Confederate Veterans, apparently sent out a letter gloating about his scheme. Douchette put that up in his boomerbox (seriously who the fuck uses dropbox). He got DMCA'ed over the letter and the current kerfuffle is about that, apparently.

Also, the general allegation seems to be that the $2.5 million "settlement" was of a sham lawsuit set up to bypass the Board of Governors of UNC and just give a shitload of money to some private entity without it having to be approved. So instead of budgeting it, which wouldn't have been approved, they collude to be the defendant in a lawsuit and then just settle it without having to involve the BoG.

I wouldn't mind. After all, this did start with Anime News Network being friends with a shota seeking convention stalking pedobait groomer who got ousted back around the start of the year, then using their connections with Funimation and moral fagging their way out of this, said groomer being convention sex pest Dylan Kleiman. While it's been quite a ride with Vic Mignogna, Anime News Network still has its just desserts coming, and boy, am I awaiting for that floodgate to just burst through and spill them out to dry.

As an anime fan out west, it's been a quite an eye opener too, and while it would break anyone lesser, I'm actually happy that a lot of this shit has exposed the psychology of these convention and fandom leeches, and that it did teach me what a healthy industry and community of a craft does, and what an unhealthy or non existent one does too. I figured since this was holiday time that the courts would be moving extra slow. So I am not sure what they'd be spinning yet... aside from the impending transcript that never seems to come.
