Oh look, it's the Washington Compost's resident "conservative."

No, YOU are the coward Jennifer Rubin. Because you sit behind your little computer, like all of the other tweeters, and you attack anyone who disagrees with your opinions. The fact that you still believe that Putin intervene in the 2016 election, is evident in your post.

No, not in a million years. Maybe we'll get another internet savvy shitposter in chief, but the combination of Trump's sheer gall and the media's sheer salt is once in a timeline. Lincoln had the salt, Teddy had the gall, but we'll never get both again until heat death.
Trump truly is a once in a lifetime president. Who would have thought that a successful businessman would have risked his entire family's future to the unmerciful blasting of media by both sides of the political spectrum desperate to take him out in order to run for a country unsure of if he can lead? If Trump gets a second term, he is going to be the most consequential president in generations. Not just with policies, but also with the court system and how politicians conduct themselves in front of the public. We asked for a revolution and by golly, we just might get it.

It also helps that Russia hasn't been a serious threat to the US since the Soviet Union collapsed.

Russia hasn't been a serious threat to the US since roughly the death Stalin when US force projection outpaced that of the Soviets.
Specifically the Death of Stalin because while the power balance had been shifting, Mao had a total man-crush on Stalin, and if the US and the USSR had gone to war, Mao would have put the full weight of the Chinese human wave behind Stalin (China had about zero force projection, but they would have been able to just cram eastern russia with so many warm bodies it would be impossible to kill them all). After Stalin died, Mao viewed his successors as some variety of faggot or another and would have been increasingly reluctant to intervene as long as China wasn't threatened.

Russia was, and is still, a strong regional threat and a threat to US global interests.

For example, Russia still supplies and helps train Cubans to go try to set up leftist governments in Latin America - despite no longer being commies - because the instability of leftist take overs/attemtped take overs off-balances the US.

Trump is a politician the likes we haven't seen since the founding fathers. ITs been over 4 years, four years, of a concerted, desperate, full court press to dig up dirt on Trump by the Media and the Democratic Party (I repeat myself). They want ANYTHING, anything on Trump. Literally anything.
What have we got?
We've got a tape from backstage on a show where he says women will let him grab them by the pussy cause he's rich.
We've got a woman claiming Trump did a sexy rape on her.
And we've got a woman breaking an NDA about having the sex, but no actual crime.
and at some point used Eppstein's plane Haha just kidding, comrade! Nothing to see there! Eppstein touched some girls and then committed suicide. Don't do any looking into who Eppstein flew with, how often, or where they flew to! Or who else he hung out with! Certainly no one important! Best to just forget the whole thing!

That's it. That's the best they've dug up after over 4 years. Who the fuck else would be that clean?

And in the process of this breathless Witch Hunt, all they've successfully done is made the general public painfully aware of all of the skeletons in their own closets. Adam Schiff and his "Liddle Kidz", Joe Biden and his Ukraine deals, Feinstein's Chinese driver who was probably fucking spying on her for years, Kamala Harris and her whole fiasco with the prisons, Hillary doesn't need any introduction and I could probably continue this list for another 50 names just off the top of my head.

Point being: Every punch they swung at Trump just bounced off of him and decked them right in their own faces.

Some people may call this hyperbolic, but he would be more than the most consequential president in generations, but one of the most consequential people ever. Literal changer of world history.

Newspapers have been around since Gutenberg and they've always had an air of legitimacy that lent it credibility and influence. Not anymore. The same for radio and television. Cronkite was not some principled journalist. He was just as big of a hack as Brian Stelter. Slowly but surely people are coming around to realizing the press was always a bunch of snakes.

The world had continued in its post WWII globalist trajectory virtually unabated. Not anymore. Had Hillary been elected we would have stayed in these awful trade deals, signed up for another in the TPP, and continued to become a country with either high paying professional jobs or low paying service jobs an nothing in between. And the rest of the world would have too. But now a lot of other countries are following suit.

The world would have continued sleepwalking and ignoring the rise of China, until it was too late. Not anymore. Now everyone is starting to decouple and move and diversify their supply chains. If it ever came down to having to fight China, it'd be kinda hard to do when all the world's manufacturing capacity is there. They ain't gonna sell you electronics for your weapon systems to use against them.

There is a kind of inertia in politics where things, guided by "conventional wisdom" continue blindly, well past the time where they have outlived their usefulness. The time for unfettered free trade globalism is over, it's time for nationalist protectionalism. The time when Russia was the world's major threat is over, China is the new threat. This new blueprint that Trump has made will be blindly followed for the next 75 years. I'm glad it's him making it and not some committees like the last one, which wasn't even that good in the first place.

Everyone knew the press was full of shit back in the time of the Founding Fathers. It was only the mid-20th century TV news outlets that put on an air of gravitas, which they eventually debased in the 1980s with the advent of 24h news cycles (When you have to pad things out, something's got to give). Even Doctor Strangelove takes a potshot at the New York Times, so newspapers must have been mocked ever as they are now.

I would wait and see first on that. First, we need to see if he even gets a second term, particularly with taking back the House. He is no doubt one of the most influential Americans of this generation, but we do not write history, we record it. One thing he will definitely be credited for is shattering the undeserved trust in the fake news media that we had been conditioned to believe in for decades. Our trust in media is at a historic low, especially legacy like CNN.

We have indeed been waking up and we might not have done that had Hillary Clinton gotten in and began inserting her hellish hate speech policies that social media and traditional media so badly want to implement. You can bet that they will do whatever they can to prevent a Trump-like person from ever being president again. But you can bet that the rise in nationalism (which the far left loves to bitch about and censor) will be a game changer for us and I have a feeling it may not be just a fluke.

Time will tell if Trump's presidency can avert an irreversible disaster for our country. We were on a path to irrelevancy in an age of rising tigers in Asia and Latin America. Now we might be heading in a different direction. To do that, Trump needs to follow through on his promise to reduce dependency on China (which will eventually see its economy collapse) and drain the swamp of the corrupt politicians that have promoted the bloated, disastrous globalist policies. I know that these next five years will decide whenever I continue to reside in this country or move elsewhere and I hope that by the time Trump leaves office, he will leave no doubt on my mind about the former. Should that happen, he will be the first president since Eisenhower that left us in better shape than the end of the previous administration.

On another note, the Horowitz report is supposed to come out tomorrow. We will see if it contains anything of note. Here's hoping.

They want to wish it into reality so, soo bad lol.
Maddow was rooting for her during the special election. There's no way a write-in candidate with the name "Murkowski " won legitimately.

Stalin and Mao, together all the way to the English Channel?

I don't recall anyone else mentioning it, but figure it's worth bringing up before the Horowitz report drops that Lee Smith's "The Plot Against the President" came out at the end of October. I'm sure to most of us here, it's just a recap of Nunes' investigation, but to have it all in one place for anyone to pick up and read (or listen through Audible) is pretty handy. The opening line literally is Nunes' opening statement in the July 24th Mueller hearing:

"Welcome, everyone, to the last gasp of the Russia collusion conspiracy theory."

Speaking of China which will eventually see its economy collapse, Styx vlogged about this along with some Youtubers who comment.

You mean Trump is still winning? Whodathunkit !

Surplus History

Despite their efforts the Democrats can't accomplish the mission their Chinese masters gave them.

It is almost as if the conspiracy theories about china's economy being a paper tiger turns out to be true. Go figure for a country based on knockoff manufacturing and tech theft shipping out their manufacturing and countries fighting against the tech theft is crippling china.

@It's HK-47 FISA report drops in about an hour. Hope you weren't doing anything for the next week, fren.
The outpouring of noise already started. Washington Post--today of all days--just dumped the "Afghanistan Papers" onto everyone's head and that Impeachment vote whatever thing is also happening today. I don't doubt that there's going to be a dozen other "huge" stories spinning wildly out of the gates to try and drown this out, but I could not possibly give a shit about anything else happening today.

I've got a 1,000+ page report to read, and I've been waiting for this for a long time. It might even turn out to be a big ol' nothing and I'll look really stupid for being so excited about this report for the last two years. That alone would be pretty damned funny. "Local robot wastes his time for two fucking years lol"

So I just skimmed that article. Interesting yet unsurprising. They do mostly seem to talk about Bush and Obama though I'm sure they'll eventually find a way to shift it all onto Trump or say he made it worse.

They've been recycling the whole "Jesus was an illegal immigrant" bullshit since Trump rode down the escalator.

But compassion doesn't mean that we are supposed to give up EVERYTHING that we own, to people who aren't coming here to the US because they want to live here as Americans, but who are coming here to take advantage of our country services. That is where i draw the line. It's like the phrase "Give a man a fish, fed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, fed him for life."
