And late night news and/or comedy shows are supposed to also be entertainment too. I believe I'm being quite fair when I say they lose to people like Ashens or RLM. You can't be funny due to assrage, then you suffer the price of people leaving to watch other things. Like Ashens filming 130 year old olives on his couch. Or Mike Stoklasa melting a bunch of toys in acetone.

I think the main problem is that they're trying to be counterculture comedians while also being the arbiters of what is or isn't mainstream. It is perfectly possible to mock Trump. For as much as I support him, he is quite mockable. But nobody in the mainstream media or the Prime Ministers of NATO look brave for doing so. A jester is brave when he mocks a king, a king is petty and tyrannical when he mocks a jester.

The result is the media's problems will extend beyond Trump, until the current mainstream is overthrown completely.

Counterculture would imply that they actually run against the grain. But that's not true, these pieces of shit that call themselves comedians are just farmed by corporate elitist shitstains to then go on screen and are fed the exact same talking points and marching orders as dumpsterfires like CNN. The difference is that these good little mouthpieces somehow are actually less funny due to their scriptwriters that they underpay being unable to come up with good jokes. And those scriptwriters can't product good jokes because they're angry untalented hacks that are supporting their boss, a more charismatic, yet, equally untalented and most likely angry hack.

At this stage, its either pride (e.g., David French) or they were never conservatives in the first place (e.g., Bill Kristol, George Will). Despite his ideological deviances, he's been more of a rock-solid conservative than anyone would have expected. Heck, Trump has been the most pro-Israel president in history, and even then its hard for Little Ben or other Neo-Cons to really like him (not that I think Trump is trying to win them over, he's just always been a fan of Bibi).
