Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Amusing; Ridley's getting shanked for trying to throw the black son of immigrants down the stairs. Even though Boyega sounds like a massive pain in the ass because of how hard he milks his ethnicity, it's always fun to watch cannibalism in action.

So that's why this thread had people instantly come in and say it's shit a couple pages ago. The Alkies in denial are angry that they're being called out on their gay plastic addiction.

Yeah... no. It's also a series of books, tabletop games, video games, cartoons and so on, and most of those were pretty good until the buyout... so less than a decade ago.

There we go... now all can feel exogol as an actual word; right up there with schmeckledorf.

It's probably because he either really liked the Imperial guard, or just seems to think red is evil... even though the Rebels' tracer color for their blasters were red and the Empire's green. But then JarJar only understands like half of how to make a good movie or film.

Man those temple guard are cool, and since i have this thought, JJ probably thinks that we like them becaude they are red, so he turned the sith troopers red. I will give him credit though, the sith troopers do look cool, but I cant wait to see the dumb fuck lore to explain why they are different. Or why they are SITH troopers after kylo went out of his way to become some sort of wierd psudeo gray jedi thing. The moment that will kill me is when we see a red lens flare come off one of their bodies, then Ill now it was just for show.

As for the toyholics. Personally i wrote the series off the moment disney bought it. The old thing died a while ago in my mind. But then again im not a person who could recreate the movies shot to shot with his collection, so maybe im not the person your talking about.

Yeah it's something I misread into your post. It's just that it lately seems to me that the same people who were shitting on Lucas pre-Disney are now the same people who say that everything was so much better under him and I guess it just randomly boiled up just now.
I've been seeing the opposite. People who would relentlessly shit on the prequels now royally slobber the knob of the mouse. And it was only after TLJ that RLM started really ragging on the mouse too.

I may not be one to talk though since I just didn't have a hateboner for the prequels. I thought AotC was dogshit but I never talked about it and left it at that because I liked the content that was created because of it like Genndy Wars (and despite how terribly they handled the clones, I liked Kamino and the Kaminoans, I liked Geonosia and the Geonosians, I liked the Tusken Raider expansion, and despite the mixed reception of it and I liked Dex's Diner and the new aliens, despite not liking the plot of the movie or how much it retconned, which is something even Disney couldn't do for me), so I chose to ignore it and just enjoy something better instead. On a side note, one of the things I most disliked about TFA is that it did not lend itself to good spinoff material since it was just a hollow retread. Was it a serviceable popcorn flick? Maybe. But it wasn't a good basis for a new narrative or for a successor to a pre-existing franchise. Its the kind of thing that can best be enjoyed by the casual movie goer who don't invest in anything beyond the initial release other than maybe watching the same DVDs over and over again when they come out. It really brought nothing new, but prequel hateboners were so strong even after 10 years that people ate it up in a flash when the only thing they had going for them was more competent writing and acting but in a completely hollow and unoriginal setting, so the end result was a film that didn't lend itself to good spinoff material, something that was hampered even more by Kennedy's awful attempts to create the Forces of Destiny brand. The prequels were awful, but they offered up enough new ideas and narratives for other authors and content creators to work into something serviceable and popular which was nothing short of a miracle considering the flaws that littered the source material, resulting in salvaging SW's reputation (it also helps that unlike the DT, the PT doesn't change the fact that everyone's favorite characters from the OT still come out on top). Meanwhile the sequels are not only divisive but they have no good content surrounding their era to make people outside of strict devotees give a shit. Instead the only half decent or well-received Disney content doesn't even take place in the sequel era. While the only thing that does take place in their era is the Resistance cartoon, but that shit is almost universally hated and watched by no one outside of r/starwars. Best thing Disney could've done for Mandalorian is to just scrap any sequel connections and have it take place in it own continuity that will hopefully have more creative and vibrant future than those of the sequel trilogy. But that's not happening. Disney needs to salvage their nu-trilogy by any means, and unlike the PT, the DT completely destroys any hope or future the beloved characters of the OT once had. Case in point:

Sad part is there were actually talks to make KOTOR 3 from some old members still at Bioware, but Disney and EA wouldn't have it for some reason.

Much like Star Wars itself, BioWare is the skin of a formerly good brand now being worn as a suit by woke dipshits incapable of writing a coherent story or an interesting character. In my opinion, the writing was on the wall in that regard when Karpyshyn left in 2012.

I can't imagine (after the disastrous ending of Mass Effect 3, then Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mass Effect: Andromeda and finally the amazing dumpster fire that was Anthem) still thinking that an RPG produced by BioWare's current writing and development staff would have been anything other than an abysmal disappointment.

I honestly can't think of any modern RPG studios I'd trust with a KotOR revival at this point. If Cyberpunk 2077 ends up being good (current signs are somewhat mixed) then maybe it'd be fun to see CDPR take a shot at it.

Casual reminder, the people who harassed Ahmed Best and nearly drove him to suicide were the media and anti-racism activists, people who in [Current Year] would be called SJW's. They directed hate towards him for portraying what was perceived to be a racist role at the time. Don't let folks memory hole that, and call it out when you see it.

What about Obsidian? Outer Worlds seems to have given people what they wanted from what I understand.

There was quite a bit. By the time the rat ate Lucasfilm, enough PT BTS information had come out and the Plinkett reviews made it common knowledge among fans, the PT's big failing was no one had any sort of moderating influence on Lucas. ANH and ESB were so good because Lucas collaborated with a team of extremely talented filmmakers, and RotJ was the first sign of trouble when Lucas was given more creative control over his own film. The hopes were Disney would exercise some level of executive control and force him to collaborate.
Yeah but what you're referring to is the period of the buyout. I'm talking about shit from 20 years ago when the PT came out. People only talked about wanting a Disney-run SW in 2012. Back in early 2000s, people only wanted a different director. Not Disney.

Another casual reminder: this cartoon was shat out by unbalanced cunt Andrew Dobson, so take it for what it's worth (which is nothing).

>your brain on lense flairs
Having the trilogy end at tatooine on the ranch is a cycle something, and star wars fans will eat it up. This is almost as good as my spiderman comic.

>your normal not damaged brain
Luke hated tatooine and had no connection to the place once his family died and friends left, leaving his shit there is closer to insult then honor.

It's like poetry it rhymes...

That's a shame. Guess I should've known better than to expect something amazing in the Current Year.
I mean its still a good game, but they focused way too hard on the corporate themeing, 10 hours in you get to a point of "ok... i get it".

Its not the level of writing I expect of obsidian.

What about Obsidian? Outer Worlds seems to have given people what they wanted from what I understand.

Obsidian at one point was a studio known for exceptionally good writing, and for releasing buggy unfinished games.

The great writing was almost entirely due to the work of lead writer Chris Avellone (formerly of Black Isle, where he was best known for his lead design and writing role on Planescape: Torment and work on Fallout 2, and later with Obsidian on Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords and Fallout: New Vegas). Avellone left Obsidian over some kind of contract dispute in 2015 (the last project of theirs he had a hand in was the retro-isometric RPG Tyranny), and he's been working as a contractor for other studios since.

Obsidian is now more or less in the same boat as BioWare, where their big-name lead writer has left (Karpyshyn in BioWare's case, Avellone in Obsidian's) and the people remaining aren't really talented enough to carry their legacy. Obsidian at least seems to be less infested with Current Year +4 levels of wokeness, but I haven't been following Outer Worlds so I might have missed developments in that area.

Wait. WAIT. There's some new leaks that includes Zorry Bliss's face. To no surprise from me, she's human and looks like her actress, much like the Plan 9 guide said. But a leak claims that Poe's scene during the final celebration after the Emperor's death has been changed. Originally Poe was supposed to have a sort of gay moment with Finn at the end which is then dismissed as ambiguous or a joke, but now instead, Poe tries to give Zorry Bliss (his ex-gf) a kiss but she comically snubs him. Did JJ chicken out of the BBQ pandering? Will he result to another shitty tie-in novel to have le gay shippings like they did with TFA?

Regardless of source the consoomers and soy brigade love it, and use it to replace reality with their ridiculous idpol straw men when it was their camp that harassed Best all along. That needs to be shoved back in their faces as often and forcefully as possible.

I've played most of the way through the game, and some wokeshit is present but it's not ridiculously in your face as long as you ignore the character voiced by Ashly Burch. The game rips on leftism as much if not more than corporatism.

Most of the women characters are square-jawed dangerhairs, but that's at least excusable as "Obsidian doesn't code well". And honestly, the Ashly Burch character's such an annoying sped one has to wonder if it's not a thinly-veiled mockery of SJW bullshit.

So my PT and ST flow

The Phantom Menace:

I was hyped, I paid an unemployed friend to get me tickets so I could go with my other friends
Saw it like 3 or 4 times

At time 3 I began to realize the flaws of the film [beyond Jar Jar] and I saw some of the early apologia

The Force Awakens

HYPE! [BUT] about a month later I realized "I didn't want to see it a second time".

Common thread between both: "These aren't as good as they need to be but they are good enough and they get us excited about SW

Attack of the Clones:
What a incoherent mess?
Has...has George Lucas ruined SW?
The Last Jedi
what? What did I just watch?
This is very Bad
Did Disney just ruin SW?

Going into the Penultimate episode of each

I feel like I am going to see a beloved relative in the hospital getting chemotherapy to try and treat its cancer...but it isnt looking good

God she looks like shit. What a shameful costume. I will not be buying this action figure.

I am wondering now was John "I catch Wines" Boyega to based and hetero to go gay with Poe
Who knows. Maybe that's why they threw him under the bus. Then again, where does that leave Boyega's character? The shitty new "super important" Plan 9 novel has Finn say that Rey is just a friend and that Rose was just a misunderstanding or something. So what's his closure? Were the earliest leaks right in that Finn and his "sister" will have a surprise incest moment before finding out they're Lando's kids?

Here's a new Plan 9 poster showing Rey's training. Feels more like a corny comic book cover.

Also Entertainment Weekly released a strange set of art showcasing... Ahsoka, Thrawn, Boba Fett... and Mara Jade...
1575911499176.png

... I don't know what the fuck this implies, but there's been rumors going around for a while now that Mara and Thrawn would be appearing in both Plan 9 and the Mandalorian, but I honestly didn't give those rumors much credence... Wasn't butchering Thrawn bad enough? Let the dead rest. Also Ahsoka is said to be confirmed for Plan 9 too as a Force Ghost. An aged Boba Fett is also said to be appearing in the Mandalorian supposedly to recanonize his survival story from the old EU as some kind of request from Filoni, but I thought that was just a blindly optimistic rumor.

Stranger still is that Thrawn's art uses his old design rather than his new one, ie he looks older and he has no pupils again like in the old EU.

These pics were labeled under Expanded Universe rather than Legends and were also featured alongside pics of the ships of the Knights of Sheev in IX. WTF does all this mean?
