Not sure how it works in the almighty US of A, but where I live atleast, the vets that are open 24 hours, are not actually open 24 hours. They are open their normal business hours, and then have an emergency vet on call for the hours they are closed. You call the office and they get ahold of the on call vet and they meet you at the office. Therefore, you end up paying an emergency fee which can be quite costly.
As I said, not sure if it works this way elsewhere, but that could be a reason that AL didn't go outside of "normal hours". Gorl's too cheap to pay the extra emergency fee on top of the regular vet bill.

In the US we do have animal hospitals/24 hour vets, even in a town of 40,000 in the Midwest, we have a 24 hour animal hospitals. They have a vet there at night, you just take your animal in, no problem. I've had to take two different animals to the 24 hour vet clinic in the past; because I was deathly worried about them. Yes it is super expensive, but all vet bills are always expensive, blood work alone runs around $120-$150. Any responsible human who sincerely loves their pets, would take them to an animal hospital, no matter what the cost. You can set up payment plans, open up a care credit card, etc. AL is just a trash human who doesn't take proper care of her pets.

Also pet stores will occasionally do discount vet days every couple of weeks/months (I’ve found it averages out to once a week depending on how many stores are in your area). It’s usually like 150 base price and another 75 if they need to be seen again. They’ll do things like teeth cleanings, nail trimmings, vaccinations, etc. If an animal requires a service they can’t give they’ll give recommendations too. So it’s not even a price issue, they don’t ask for proof of income or anything. There are a load of treatment options even if amber didn’t have the money. I know the thread is already pretty mad and spergy so much apologies.

At the start of Eric's vlog today he talks about how the girls are planning to go to Chili's.

It's daylight when he said this, (see the window behind him), so Amber had plenty of time to take Twinkie to a regular vet before they closed. She probably didn't want to go because Destiny and Dana were on their way over. Eric and Rickie end up going to Chili's with them and he talks about what Dana ordered, so it's the same Chili's venture and not a different one.

Having two infections that aren't responding to antibiotics is a god damn grim thing, and especially at her weight. The toe is especially bad since infections need blood flow to get better, and the only way she can improve her circulation is by losing a lot of weight. A UTI that doesn't get better can get up to the kidneys and fry them.

I cant wait for the stumpy saga after they have to amputate her sugarfoot.

Edit: Also, didn't watch lol, but did she mention even making a non-emergency vet appointment for Twinkie? Even if she excuses herself out of finding and going to an emergency vet right then, the obvious thing would be to make a check-up appointment for her as soon as the standard vet's office opens.

Probably not. Chronic UTIs are usually due to a bunch of different organisms climbing up the urethra one after another, individual bugs tend to either get worse or better within a couple of weeks.
