Since we're on the 5,000th page. I'm curious if anyone's been following phil longer than I have. I've been following him since May 8th 2009. Anyone got me beat?

It's no badge of honor or anything but August '08 here - he was already in full flow shitting out Street Fighter IV khantent when we came across him in our house. His autistic tractor beam sucked us in and for a while we "liked" him.. generally speaking because we thought it was all an act and he was playing an emotionally stunted gibbon for a laugh.

I've followed him off-and-on since around February 2009. I was really into Street Fighter 4 when it came out on console, so I gravitated towards his videos. I didn't know if he actually was any good, but I enjoyed watching for the game. Then I noticed the constant bitching and general toxicity. Over time, the picture started to become clear that Phil is kind of a piece of shit.

The two things that made it clear was when he got double-perfected in SF4 after insulting the M. Bison, then disabled the comments in the video (only to have people calling him out on it in the previous video in the playlist). The other was during one of his Friend Request Ridicule video where he acted like an edgy teenager with false confidence, belittling his fans while they send him goodwill messages about him and his content. A less bombastic, but kind of revolting part of that video was when a fan wished him well with his back problems (timestamp is 4:26), and Phil blew him off and insulted his spelling.

What a great guy.

He has massive blind spots for sure, but my favorite is still him needing to filter donation and tip names, while still having automatic pop-ups for new subscribers. I forget which stream it was, but it was a recent one that LSB was rehosting, and _n1gg3r subscribed to our boy Dave.

I suppose that's on Twitch, though. How the fuck does that get through their filter?

Been following phil since heavy rain so feb 2010. Took breaks in 2012 and 2014. Back then you would find people by going on main yt page and Phil had completely spammed the gaming section so his videos were taking up whole page.

I'm pretty sure there were times where he brought up his detractors w/o anyone mentioning them (and basically breaking his own rule)

And the stream chat is based around what a streamer talks about, so basically DSP is allowed to bitch about it but people in the stream chat can't without getting banned. Great logic, Phil
