Given the sheer level of his.... 'meltdown' I guess would be the best word? Well, perhaps what we are seeing here would be best explained as him realizing his career -is- ruined.I hope these movies don't fuck with John boyega's career. He's a good actor, and it would be a shame if these films deeply tainted his chances at getting roles. He didn't sign up to be in Star Wars to be regulated to minstrel show level comic relief.
I like Boyega. I remember he did voicework for the recent Watership Down miniseries and holy shit I couldn't even tell it was him until I saw the credits. He's a decent actor and I can tell that he hates what Disney did to his character. I don't blame him.
He's not wrong.View attachment 1047065

I still can't get over how anyone is supposed to be slobbering over this film now that Luke is completely gone from the equation. Completely devaluing the OT characters is the biggest sin with this trilogy as it doesn't understand what people genuinely want to see. When you have a big-name character like Luke Skywalker, you don't fucking kill him off in the second act of the series. This shit should have been reserved for the final movie and it doesn't help that he was only in the first installment for about nine seconds. The complete exceptionalness of the decision to barely feature/degrade/kill off Luke in the ST is something I will never understand till the day I die.
It was a misread / mistranslated. @manteehunter posted what was happening in one of his more recent posts to the thread (but still a fair way back). IIRC they aren't screening the movie instead it's a fan event; so a meet and greet, and merch selling.Isn't Plan 9 releasing in two days in Japan or was that rumor a meme?
Fix this.Seriously. I never saw Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters 2
How much better of a state would things be if He would have done ST instead of PT? Do you think Disney would have messed PT up more than they did the ST?1999-2005 honestly.

Do you think a great actor would be able to save lines like "That’s how we’re gonna win this. Not fighting what we hate, saving what we love"?I think he is good, but to give a nod to @Love_Machine011 , his performance in pacific Rim was sub par. I think he has talent, but lacks experience, and needs a strong script to help him overcome that lack of experience. With a sub par, or outright bad, script he seems to be unable to really work with it well.

Agree. Even before "social media" became a thing, there were still online forums. I'm willing to bet most if not all had at least one user who registered solely to troll other users or otherwise make provocative posts to get triggered, negative reactions in response. He's not wrong.
On one hand, it can be heavy having to deal with a deluge of messages that could have been done by maniacs with more being how she sucked or how her character sucked or shouldn't have existed, but on the other, if you are an actual stable adult, you know that you should take all of this with a grain of salt and not be bothered by it. If you take down your account for backlash that isn't based on how much of a terrible person you legitimately are, then you should not have been on social media in the first place.
No, case in point, Samuel Jackson in the prequels. Bad writing, bad directing, both can kill even a solid talented and experienced actors abilities. It is why I do not hold this trilogy of movies against any of the actors and am instead looking up and watching other content with them to gauge their acting chops.Do you think a great actor would be able to save lines like "That’s how we’re gonna win this. Not fighting what we hate, saving what we love"?
Having just spent an hour reading this thread my hatred for JJ, Rian and Kathleen have magnified tenfold, my respect for John Boyega has increased marginally and I do feel somewhat bad that the NuWars' faggoty fanbase are going to make it their mission to turn him into a black literallyHitler for daring to step out of line, and I'm absolutely floored by how bad all of the shit in the leaks is and hoping to Zeus that Disney is releasing fake spoilers to hide the fact that they somehow made a masterpiece that unfucks the entirety of the last 2 movies.
"Yeah, sorry, I'm the one who gets to fuck the prom queen."
Alternatively: Darth Plagueis and Palpatine failed because their power came from the dark side. They refused to accept that they were on the wrong side of history, unlike Rey who will teach herself to become an immortal deity. Having dark side magic isn't genetic, it's like getting a class change....that doesn't explain Kylo unless we're supposed to just accept he's good now. Also...we are talking about Darth Plageis apprentice right? The guy that essentially wanted to cheat death. The guy that promised Anakin (well he could of very well lied) that he could save Padme. Also...again, if Rey is his clone, why tf does she not have dark force powers then? It's a freaking mess.
Aaaand now I hate the manchild enough to want him dead, whereas before I just wanted someone to kick his ass. Not only is Del Toro a director leagues above Rian that Rian doesn't deserve the privilege and honor of sharing an existence with, Sean Connory doesn't deserve to have one of his best quotes soiled by Rian's soy guzzling lips.Want me to increase your hatred for Ryan Johnson even more?
There is one interview where he tells you everything you need to know about him. Long story short Guillermo del Toro wanted to direct Breaking Bad's Ozymandias.
This is what he replied:
On hindsight We should've seen the early signs he was a jackass.
That attitude pretty explains a lot of what he does like why he killed Luke, despite the previous ep IX director being against it. He wanted to be the one to kill Luke, and Snoke, despite it making zero sense narratively.
That and, I know this is late, but him being delusional enough to, unironically, think everyone that calls him out on his shitty movie is a "Russian bot".
But I'm guessing the later is public knowledge already... but the breaking bad thing was just unbelievably childish.
The Russian bot hysterics had gotten so routine it took me awhile to realize how stupid this is.That and, I know this is late, but him being delusional enough to, unironically, think everyone that calls him out on his shitty movie is a "Russian bot".
I don't know why but the fact that they're trying to fix the trilogy with the shitty hodgepodge of a third film and have stans to try and say that the film that fucked every character (old and new) is the best out of the entire franchise just makes me seethe in anger. My only knowledge of Disney Stars Wars out of the two movies I paid to watch and the cartoons series that's on TV is a podcast that talks about the new canon and the occasional look-through of the Wookiepedia. But I can just feel anger that you would see in a long-time fan since the old canon for everything around this, like...ohhhhhhhhhhh you fucks
Just give me the MATI rating for the hell of it.
