Absolutely not. Shipping is motivated by a sense of sexual thrill or due to personal romantic fantasies. Back in the day, shippers got disappointed and dejected all the time, but with the rise of social media, they now have a voice that allows them to become more vocal and widespread, and the many yaoi/yuri shits of old now have political support to boot from the progressive crowd. This is why I don't like caving to the shippers because they are crazed loons that operate on their head canon being canon, so trying to please them is like walking on egg shells.

In Japan, female gay fan shippers (Fujoshis) are considered the lowest social order of weeb - according to some, on par with if not even lower even than lolifags, which is saying a lot - and almost universally hated.

The reason for it is that they are known for flying into fucking psychopathic levels of rage if anyone defies their insane shipping as canon, even though many times that shipping has zero basis in actual fact within the work of fiction. None get them angrier than if the Author flat-out tells them to go fuck themselves and that they're wrong, to the point where they'll aggressively pursue them and have a gigantic history of making death threats.

The whole "shipping" fad/craze is patently exceptional especially outside romances and/or comedies because in any other story, it is pretty much inconsequential to the plot. I don't give a crap who Count Dooku beds or not nor was it relevant to the plot of the prequels unlike Anakin and Padme's relationship.

One thing I want to do after IX comes out is to watch VII, VIII, and IX all in a row for the sole purpose of seeing what a jumbled mess the whole thing is.

I made this comment a while back, but at the very least, the prequels all feel like they belong together and there is a unified story there. It is terribly executed and makes no sense, but stylistically and tonally, they all feel like they belong as one story.

And the OT is about as close to a perfect trilogy as anything can be. No movie is perfect, but the OT nearer than most.

The ST though is just...messy. I can't think of any other way to describe it. It is clear to me that they either didn't have a plan from the beginning (which makes no sense considering JJ's mystery box stuff) or they had a plan and then for whatever reason gave Rian carte blanche to blow it all up, resulting in this "What the fuck do we do now?" for IX.

Probably. They probably specify that any redress can be levied against him or his estate as a debt of the estate that goes to the front of the queue over other debts, or made him put up something as surety as well. Not a specialist in this area but if he owns his own home they might be able to try some sort of floating charge against said home. Normally a floating charge is used in lending and corporate finance to secure a debt in that if the debt isn't repaid according to the terms of the credit agreement the charge will "crystallise" and become a fixed charge (i.e. a lien or mortgage) against property or securities in the name of the borrower. I don't know if you can have a contractual agreement that imposes a floating charge to crystallise for an unspecified sum against an asset in the event of breach but in theory it could be possible, and the House of Mouse probably has the ability to throw money at its army of lawyers enough that they can just intimidate the family into compliance because it'd be either pay up or face uncertain and expensive legal wrangling in the Courts.

I figured the circular firing squad would be among the producers at Lucasfilm after a disappointing 2nd week end box office, not among the cast as part of pre-release anti-hype.
