I know this seems harsh, but seeing Linkara's wife actually made me lose respect for him. I thought his videos were decent (only the reviews - I never watched the other shit), and I liked listening to them occasionally as background. Any caveats or disagreements were glossed over, it didn't matter. Then I saw his wife.

To date and then marry a woman like that (after such a short relationship too) tells me his is a deeply insecure, likely romantically-inexperienced person. The latter isn't quite a negative but it informs people's opinions and perceptions. Thus, the idea of that woman as "attractive." Earlier in the thread she was referred to as Harambe, and I want to make it clear this isn't a black people = apes thing, that woman actually has a *simian* appearance. Change her green and she's Shrek with less charm. Her personality must be life-enriching, in ways that don't translate through video.

If anything I'm surprised he got someone interested in him that fast.

I mean, I’ve written stuff (won’t power level or say what they are because don’t want people stealing my ideas or finding me) but I’ve done a villain that wanted takeover to one up a predecessor, and I’m thinking of one that involves antagonists just going loose in their final moments. I won’t say I’m better than Lewis or anything, but I can understand villains having motivations that they justify to themselves and doing things because “it amused me”.

I understand “hero of their own story”, and that’s probably an intermediate writing skill, but what I’m hearing is that Linkara can’t write a proper villain motivation to save his life that isn’t world domination for the sake of it a la Pinky and The Brain. I mean, I’ve written stuff (won’t power level or say what they are because don’t want people stealing my ideas or finding me) but I’ve done a villain that wanted takeover to one up a predecessor, and I’m thinking of one that involves antagonists just going loose in their final moments. He did have Lord Vice, who was trying to conquer the multiverse to protect it from a Lovecraftian Pokemon (yes really) that was going to destroy everything. Why Vice needed to conquer the multiverse to protect it or, how he was even going to protect it from a creature that was basically a physical god was never explained. He was discarded for the finale of that arc anyway, so Linkara Sue could talk the Pokegod into killing itself.

I'm pretty sure that's the deepest a Linkara villain has ever been.

He was kind of tepid with Time Force, thinking that it was a good series but it was kind of overrated by the fanbase.

He didn't really seem to dislike RPM all that much. Because it was such a divisive series and the end of an era of Power Rangers, he really did take his time analyzing everything and making arguments for what worked and what didn't.
