What's more important for them is that they have a servile population who will keep voting for them en bloc; and when the duskies do get uppity, its safely contained in the areas occupied by the poor. No sir, they have a ready supply of domestic servants who work cheaply and vote the correct way, who cares what they get up to in the poor neighborhoods. That's not my culture.

Best to make sure they have to squabble and fight for jobs: they'll be too tired to get up to much mischief, and the lucky ones will be too worried about keeping that menial job to get any ideas. Again, they aren't breaking into MY house or selling drugs on my corner, why do I care?

I'm not sure if anyone else remembers this. In the week after 9/11, there were several TV interviews with Congress/Senate scumbags talking about how the US needs to set up a separate, secret shadow government in case a terror attack takes out the sitting government. It lasted two or three days and the talk was as though the decision to do it had already been made. Then after 2 or 3 days of talking about it, no-one ever spoke of it again.

Pepperridge Farms remembers. This whole debacle happening to Trump right now keeps reminding me of those news stories from back then.

More than a few folks commenting on the current state of US Dems and UK Labor have pointed out a lot of contemporary leftists don't seem to understand that you need to have workable policy to appeal to voters, not just tell the best fanfic of how you'd run the world if you had unilateral power.... both parties are running on platforms of impossibly utopic promises backed up by nothing but seething anger at those who ask what exact taxes/bureaucracy/laws will be required to make it work.

The very idea they are elected officials seems lost on them, pleasing the electorate no longer seems like it even enters their minds, having to be popular among the writ-large citizenry is laughable to them, they only want to be accountable to those few elite civic/internet groups that have been judged as worthy of listening to. They seem to think they are ordained to rule the plebes who can't govern themselves effectively and are simply TELLING THEM HOW IT WILL BE. I remember TFM on the Killstream arguing that they HAVE to do this because the welfare state would collapse with the current birthrates (either that or bite the bullet and perform massive cuts). In that view the Western world is being set up as a nursing home for the aging white race, and they don't like rowdy or ungrateful residents.

I doubt its some decades to centuries long vendetta against whitey by (((them))) (or insert your favored conspirator here) that came to fruition. It's probably an accumulation of band-aid fixes to the side-effects of things that seemed like a good idea at the time. Unless they truly wish to become third world slum lords in gated communities with heavily armed guards.
