I'm no financial expert, but this whole talk of forgiven debt sounds completely absurd to me - in Phil's case, that is.

For starters, I would assume this is only done when it's just not worth pursuing the debt because the person just doesn't have disposable income to pay it; Phil """earns""" like 80K a year, they will be able to get their money, and probably not all that slowly once the court looks at his income.

Second, remember this isn't the bank that loaned Phil the money initially. The people suing specifically bought this debt knowing they would sue. And sure, they paid less than the actual amount of the debt, because between having to collect it and the time needed, they need to make a profit, but I don't imagine they will make much if any of a profit if they skip on the 30-40K that will be left after the condo is sold, and even if they did, they're not running a charity, quite the contrary in fact.

I was wrong, but I read it here:

He was trying to fuck a co-worker it seems...

Yeah, the 'owner' in that context meant the owner of the condo, not the owner of the business.

Here is my post on the 'fucking a co-worker' theory:

I can't prove it, but I have no reason to doubt the story considering the circumstances in which I heard it.

I wonder if that emergency $1800 Phil wanted was an attempt to pay enough on the CT mortgage to stop this from happening...
From what I've read on foreclosures, they don't start the process unless you have been delinquent for more than 3 months. Since the process began in November the latest his last payment could have been was in August. My guess was he hasn't paid since May.

Oh yes, the $1800 that would fix everything and put him back on track. He's been working on his super secret plan since April, guys. If he gets $1800 he will be able to refinance the home and everything will be all good.

He lied again to all his viewers. If he gets the $1800 it will fix everything! By the way I'm skipping out on my $100k mortgage. You guys will have to pay for that too.

That's actually a good point. It's highly unlikely that they new owners of the debt will let him walk away without hitting his pockets. The worst thing he could have done (if he actually did it) was to call the old bank and tell them to go fuck themselves. There are avenues he could have taken to work on the mortgage. Again, Phil burns bridges with no sight of whats on the other side.

Kind of off topic, but did you know Phil when he worked at Wells Fargo? He claims he left because he was morally opposed to their banking practices. However one time he admitted he was fired because he went over his manager's head and tried to get him fired for dating Phil's coworker that he had a crush on.

Also were you ever aware of Phil having a girlfriend before Panda? Phil claims he had lots of girlfriends. I doubt this. If Phil had no problem getting girls he wouldn't have bought a $130k one room condo to try to get a date.

I don't believe so, but it's possible. I know when he worked at Circuit City or whatever the fuck the store was where he talked about being part of some new sales team. It was a stand-alone building in the parking lot of the mall which was one of the places that had an MvC2 cabinet we'd play on. I was still barely in the FGC/scene when he was doing his helicopter sales shit, but I don't know where the bank job falls on the timeline.

As for girlfriends? No, not aware of anything. There was never a girl around with him at any tourneys, or when we went down to NYC (might as well bring your girl with you if you're going and do some sight seeing or eat somewhere, even if you want to go to the arcade), or any time we had a gathering at his condo or other places.

Nah, I don't think they can take his current home. I'm pretty sure there's laws in place that prevent you from being made homeless if you have to declare bankruptcy or get foreclosed on. It's like the IRS. They don't want to put you in jail for not paying shit, they want their money, and they can't get their money if they remove the means of you paying them back.

They'll take two grand a year over the next 30 years and then seize whatever they can when you die before they let you try and just wipe away the debt. You can't just go and declare bankruptcy whenever you want, there's all kinds of criteria you need to meet.

$15k? Well, that's the December begathon amount, plus an extra 15% for fees and Phil to put a little bit away. And by put away I mean to spend on frivolous shit to keep his soul-maid around. I was wrong about the Rambo bait shit, though, so who the fuck knows.

ya too bad they dont see how much your shit is worth, tell you to get the fuck out and move into some rundown garbage and sell your shit

phil also claimed to have a fiance and get mad puss

I think phil is in complete denial and just hoping that by some miracle he can pigroach himself out and get the bank to seek a tiny payment compared to what he owes. The length he is going to ignore anything related to talking about this is crazy, combined with the letter not making it to him. But its phil so eventually he will crack and then talk about how stressed and anxious he is everyday.

He just has to create the narrative he wants to portray and the script that he'll follow then it will come out.

"Well you guys, I didn't want to talk about this but as some nosy stalking shitheads have been SUHPAMING the stream chat about. Yes, I am in an extremely shitty situation, etc etc etc.

Friendly timestamped reminder that Phil's mom told him they would never be able to help him out with money like this ($4K) ever again after the wedding, during 'the Talk'. (44m10s)
His parents have cut him off financially, so Listen up Paypigs! Next year when he has a tax emergency that he created himself you actually have to pay it all you WORTHLESS HUMANS!
Edit: Phil told us his mother said this at least, so it's possibly just another lie to call him out on eventually.

It's holiday season. DSP's mail carrier will leave him a reciept in his mailbox most likely. DSP will have to sign the reciept then call post office to have his letter delivered. These letters typically have a green card on back which DSP would sign so law office knows he recieved the letter. It's possible but unlikely the mail carrier would actually go up to his door and ring his bell.

Yeah, it's hard to believe this story. Usually guys, particularly if they're younger, will bring their girls to tournaments or the arcade or some shit with them. I was in the scene from like 2001-2009/10ish and never saw Phil with a girl or heard any mention of one until Panda entered the picture. I still hung out with some of the CT community heads because we were friends and did shit outside of playing games (except for Phil, he never fucking went anywhere with us or did anything). Phil basically disappeared once he was doing his YT shit, though.

Forgiven debt and bankruptcy I don’t believe will apply to him. Courts can subpoena his tax returns for a benchmark on where to begin. Based on what we know, they will see a net income of well north of $120,000.

That will screw him hard as the courts can then grant garnishments on any account he has that hold money which I believe includes his PayPal.

A bank won’t take a loss if more money can be recovered because a customer is lying and refusing to pay. Banks aren’t in the business of losing money and typically have well trained lawyers employed for them directly to handle this kind of thing.

So in my opinion, they will see that he makes bank while refusing to pay the bank. This will bite him in the ass very hard.

If garnishment isn’t an option then their are routes the bank can take to absolutely go after his assets despite what state he resides in. He will learn real fast not to mess with a business that does nothing but handle money.

If I had to guess, DSP stopped paying his mortgage before it was sold to the second lender. It was probably sold to the second lender because the first lender didn't want to deal with interstate collection and the second lender was willing to.

I get that this is the reality, that USPS has dozens of seasonal carriers that won't bother to deliver something past the mailbox at his front gate. But please don't take the image of Phil cracking the blinds next to his front door, pawing behind him for his Defense Axe as the mailman trots up with an envelope away from me.
