DSP's Loan & Savings Company

So payment after payment after payment Phil has decided the next best move is to cut the umbilical cord the bank has hooked onto him...

The only thing I'd agree with about that is if the place has been vacant the whole time except for the mold that has made itself at home.

And after telling us how much his parents mean to him he's still in no financial position to ever visit them again when you simply add up the hotel, travel, and dining expenses.

This whole thing has just been one huge botch - I'm happy he's sleeping well as a newly wed but he's beyond screwed if he thinks his creditors are going to give him a break for more than a couple months.

Hold up... am I misunderstanding something here or did his parents tell him to just stop paying his CC bills, the mortgage on the condo in CT and... negotiate with the bank? What the actual fuck...

No, you're understanding that correctly. Dsp is taking the single most fucked retarded route to solve his debt by making it a million times worse.

His parents have cut him off financially, so Listen up Paypigs! Next year when he has a tax emergency that he created himself you actually have to pay it all you WORTHLESS HUMANS!
Really makes me wonder if he has been wired cash from his parents this whole time and now the supply line has been cut. Also possible since he has no respect for his parents, that he pulls the begging card a lot on them as well. Wouldn't surprise me if he lies to them about his money problems like he does with his viewers.

It's a testament to the way Phil handles any situation, really. Phil loves taking shortcuts. He does so when he plays video games, and he does so in his life.

Instead of making small incremental payments every week to pay his bills at the end of the month, he'd rather beg his fans so that he has all the money at once. He never welcomes any sort of dialogue, so he band people instead (listening to other people's perspectives just takes too much time, dood!). And he'd rather just say "fuck paying the condo" instead of taking the necessary steps to pay it off.

He's way too focused on short term results that do long time damage to him. He's such a fucking retard.

Jeebus Christ his actual plan is just to say fuck you to all his creditors. I'm sure this will all work out, they'll let him off the hook with the one actual asset that he has in his name and there isn't an impending "DSP getting sued by creditors" saga on the horizon.

It's okay dude, he did his research!

He has no idea how hard he's going to be blind sided when he defaults on one of his creditors. He hopes that the credit card companies will offer him half payments or some weird plan he thought of. Once his credit report shows one default no one is going to want to give him a break... they're going to want their money before he bails on them. He knows that once he bails on the CT condo he's wrecking his credit, but yet is still positive that the others will be more sympathetic..

If this goes as bad as I think it will, it would be hilarious to hear him complain about his calls with collectors. They're going to insult him by saying he's the man of the house and that he needs to take responsibility for this. Somehow collectors will be the assholes for wanting their money back.

Leave it to Dark and his exceptionalism to assume that multi-million/ billion dollar companies are interested in negotiating with a dude that barely breaks the 6-figure mark on a yearly basis.

Jesus, his parents are pretty exceptional too to give him this kind of advice.

I believe thats a strong possibility. I had a friend who was a lot like dsp at one point in his life, just zero empathy for anyone else but himself. He would lie when the truth would benefit him. He would be so lazy knowing full well he had bills coming in, then use the fact that he had an emergency as an excuse to come to his parents and say' "i need help! my bills are due tomorrow and theyre going to cut the power off if you dont give me x dollars!"
Then as soon as he got what he needed he would relax and go back to being lazy and putting off thinking about bills until the next emergency. His parents gave him all their money until they were just straight broke. At least my friend had the excuse of being a full blown addict at the time. DSP is just a fucking narcissistic man-child who probably had his parents bail him out of every single situation ever and just got used to being coddled so he never had to grow up.

I think usually they send him cash for his birthday. This time they made him actually visit and give them a promise in return. We still kinda don't know where all his money goes though. At his highest he was getting like 10k a month. Maybe he just tries to put dents in credit?

Or alternatively he have no money problems, and is only setting the stage for the narrative of the next emergency. It will always be something it's what he does now. In DSP land if you profit 10cent more a month being in a state of emergency. Emergency it is. So what are ve entering now? The bad finance advice saga?

If he really does have 25 cards that he's juggling various payments on to get the best rates, I'll take back everything I ever said about him spending every sunday night paying bills, but also what the FUCK dude.

Recall that his financial strategy for at least the last few years, according to him, is to basically kite his credit card debt to new cards with promo rates. Then, when the promo rates are about to end, he moves whatever debt remains onto another card. It's also why his payments actually went up--if he didn't get that debt moved onto a new low or 0% APR card, he would get charged interest for the entire time period (up to 18 months, in some cases) at whatever hilariously high rate the card has.

I'm honestly just baffled by his staunch refusal to rent out the ConDough. Even just hypothetically let's say he has 10 years left on that mortgage, even if he could only rent it out for $800/month and only gets half that money by the end of paying off that mortgage renters will have paid him $48,000. Why would you not do that? Why would you just flush like 10 years of mortgage payments or whatever on that place down the drain by saying, "I told you I can't pay, so fuck you, I'm not going to pay anymore. Just forclose on it, I don't care, not my problem anymore."? Like he really thinks he can just stick his fingers in his ears and magically he doesn't owe that money to the bank anymore?

I'm just having a hard time believing this one without hard evidence that property actually went into forclosure.

We will get that evidence when it happens because people will be checking its status once in a while.

This whole plan of his to just not pay off his debt like he agreed to when he spent someone elses' money is outright dangerous and no matter how much I dislike him I hope he has consulted with a competent accountant and attorney to discuss whether or not this is the right move and how to go about it. He could very easily ruin his (and now Kat's) life.

Then again, no matter what decisions he makes it's probably going to produce funny episodes so the more power to him.

I'm right there with ya man. He talks about how he can't use a property management company, but it's all bullshit. I mean, sure it's not the cheapest route if you're upside down on a mortgage, but I'd rather a property management company taking 8 - 12% monthly rent as fee rather than fucking myself and losing the house.

Not to mention that the prop mgmt company doesn't get anything if the place isn't occupied and you can see how they'd be super motivated to get and keep people there.
