Yeah, it's hard to believe this story. Usually guys, particularly if they're younger, will bring their girls to tournaments or the arcade or some shit with them. I was in the scene from like 2001-2009/10ish and never saw Phil with a girl or heard any mention of one until Panda entered the picture. I still hung out with some of the CT community heads because we were friends and did shit outside of playing games (except for Phil, he never fucking went anywhere with us or did anything). Phil basically disappeared once he was doing his YT shit, though.
To no ones surprise. Darks entire life pre YouTube sounds like a fabricated fantasy made up by a social loser.
 
Phil wants his credit score intact, at least for the time being, so he can refinance the mortgage of the WA condo, the main reason being to lower his monthly payments. If his credit is destroyed thanks to the foreclosure, he can't do that. So on top of the WA mortgage that won't change, he'll have to find some way to pay off the difference between what he owes on the CT mortgage ($101k) and what it'll sell for. The other problem is that foreclosed properties almost always sell for less than if it was being sold under normal circumstances. Considering how much the CT condo has already declined in value over the years (from $130k when Phil bought it in 2009 to around $60k today), Phil could be looking at a situation where he's on the hook for $40k minimum and possibly even more. The bank isn't going to let that much slide. He should have dumped the fucking thing when he had the chance and taken the loss, but no he wanted top dollar for it like an idiot.
The smart thing for Phil to do is to move out of the WA condo, its value estimated at $400k, sell it, use it to pay off debts and get a small, affordable place. He won't be in a """gated""" community, but he won't have to worry about money.

Just a couple things after catching up with the thread. Phil has most definitely received a note in the mail to pick up a certified letter at the post office. If he continues to ignore it, they will move on without him.

His condo may be appraised at 60k but that doesnt mean that's how much the bank will get out of it. They will take the earliest, decent offer they get just to get rid of it. Then they will sue the roach for the rest and garnish his wages. EDIT: ninja'd by kermit gg

I don't remember, to be honest. Any time I was at the CT condo there was always a fuck ton of people and booze there, so that would likely mask most smells short of plumbing issues. His parents house, again, I'd only been in twice and it was just really quickly. Probably just smelled like a smoker's place, but it wasn't so pungent that it made a memory. Even as a smoker myself that shit bothers me, and I've been in some places where the smell of smoke was terrible.

It's all he has left and he is going to hold on to that thing until the value plummets. He could have legit cleared up pretty much all of his debt.

In ancient times, desperate people used to sell themselves into servitude to pay off huge debts. Not much has changed really, most people are slaves to something, even today. If things really go south for DSP, I wonder who his new handler will be.

unless dave sells his WAkahndo for a lot less than market value, for a quick sale, it's going to take a while to sell it, plus realtor fees

They do if he declares bankruptcy, which is the only way he's getting out of this. They don't automatically become public record as part of discovery. They'll only become part of the foreclosure court records if they're actually submitted to the court for something.

People continue to take an assumed value as gospel, when compared to an actual house inspection and appraisal.

Condition, upgrades, repairs, and modern amenities go a long way into determining the true value of a home.

He paid $265K. Right now the homes in that area are going for around $400k. That's a huge surge in the marketplace in just 5 years. But let us take a few things into consideration:

Location: It is a garbage area, not to mention it is a middle unit which drops the value. There is no arguing this. Remember people, location location location!

Repairs: I can't tell you how many times I have brought this up but numbnuts Phil admitted to having a leak in his closet in his bedroom, and said he didn't have to open the wall to check for internal damage or mold. He has no idea how long that leak was going on for but sure just don't check. Fact is: The boy has mold, black mold at that in the closet of the master bedroom which could also include rotting wood.

Upgrades: Tubby couldn't even hang some blinds and curtains himself, you think he is upgrading, updating, and painting anything? This is new construction, 1999, but we are talking 20 years. Guess what starts to go after 20 years? Roofs typically last 20 years before they start to deteriorate and require replacing. I'll assume the water heater was replaced once, but it is about that time to do it again. The boiler is probably okay but a few more years and that will be end of life as well.

The floors at this point will need to be resurfaced and thoroughly cleaned, the kitchen and bathrooms will all be how they were from 1999, so horribly outdated. Appliances will be older as well.

So that $400,000 estimated value drops tremendously when you add all this crap up. Sorry but I don't see his unit getting over $300,00 with how I am picturing it right now.

Does property automatically become a shared asset/liability upon exchanging vows or would she need to be explicitly added as an owner?
