For what it's worth I wasn't thrilled after the first "OG Avengers" trailer because I just don't know what kind of game I was getting. I don't now that I know Kamala is in it, either. It's hard for me to build any substantial hype when I'm just taking a guess at what I can expect to actually do. Clearly it's some kind of beat 'em up, is that the entire thing? I don't know and they don't seem to be in any particular rush to tell me, so why build hype.
I think what I hate the most is how they haven't really done much to distinguish the characters in action besides maybe Iron Man. If you compare the Hulk and Thor in the combat sections, they look visually different but they look functionally identical. Captain America can throw his shield but outside of that he looks like he fights the same. And for a game about a diverse group of superheroes that's not a good sign. It looks painfully generic.

Which I can only imagine they intend to remedy by giving each one their own individual "styles' peppered throughout the game (stealth, puzzle w/e) which guarantees at least some of them will be shit and annoying, ala MJ's shit in Spider-Man PS4.

Carol was also pretty fun with the Starjammers back when she was Binary.

I kind of got myself a preview into how normies will react to Kamala with her appearance in Ultimate Alliance 3. The people I played with remarked about how her powers were lame (explaining that she's a full-on shapeshifter didn't make it better) and that her costume sucked. I don't really see how they are going to make her more mainstream without a radical overhaul of the character.
A radical overhaul, you say? I don’t see how making her a jihadi will make her more popular, but it could be amusing!

Pre-orders launched on steam:

"Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a new, hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco. The celebration turns deadly when a mysterious enemy causes a catastrophic accident which results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, a sprawling adventure ignites when a determined young woman named Kamala Khan sets out to reassemble and rebuild the Avengers to stop the unchecked power of the secretive new force known as AIM.

Marvel’s Avengers continues the epic journey with new Heroes and new narrative delivered on an ongoing basis, for the definitive Avengers gaming experience. "

The Nicolas Cage one got a laugh out of me.

I'm opening myself up to autism ratings and whats his face screaming "FUCKING SJW SHILL REEEEEE" but 90% of them at least know of the character and are just sperging out "as a joke". She's been in Marvel games for years at this point, they just saw a sweet chance to be Lil Metokurs.
Half of them were shitty mobile games, one was an MMO that had basically every character marvel ever had, Two of them were Lego Games that had every character ever, and one was Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 where there were also a billion characters. Most of her Game appearances were full of nobodies that people wouldn't recognize if you plastered them on the box.

As a main character in an outfit similar to what she is wearing in this? Or as a one of nobody like Justice League Unlimited* did?

*Not shiting on JLU here, just saying that some of the characters that showed up were obscure as fuck.

She's practically the main character in that Marvel Rising shit,is a major supporting character in Spider-Man and was the audience surrogate character in the last Avengers cartoon.

You called?

Well, I don't know what made you believe that "They are just totally kidding guys they don't really hate her" and that they are just trying to be like Metokur, but from what I've seen there does seem to be a valid concern that I will sum up as 3 points. For the record you strike me almost as someone that's assuming that most consumers consume everything Marvel, when many of them have mainly seen the movies and not much else, which seems to be where the majority of the interest comes from in the first place. Hence the complaints about how they look compared to the movies; fucking Twittersphere went on about it. Unless you are on the subreddit for this game that ain't reflective of the majority of people. But if you can provide evidence (the Burden of proof falls on you since you said this) then I will take it. Also those marvel games you mention are actually games with almost all the main heroes from Marvel, so she's just yet another superhero you play as in those, which I will explain why for this game it's a little different...

1. Most don't really know much about her and this is due to many of the consumers only watching the MCU movies and not much else. Now, if she was just a side character this wouldn't be much of a problem; you play as the main Avengers and at some point in the story she becomes a character who joins the team whom you can play as, adding a new character to make things more interesting. The PROBLEM is that she's meant to be the MAIN character, not a side character, the MAIN character which the story mainly revolves around as the insert for the audience (or feminist/muslims/SJWs whatever fuck you), at least from promotional material they are selling her like that (perhaps this is wrong, but this is the point of view of most people right now) which is the reason people are a bit mad about this. Now, I bet you are going to say "But Spider-Verse was a hit and no one knew Miles!" (for the record haven't seen it yet), the thing with Spider-Verse is they advertized that movie as a weird Spider-Man movie where we would see different kinds of Spider-Men from different universes, essentially priming the audience for Spider-Man to be a black boy and they accepted it. Plus they advertized the movie with Miles from the get go, not like Marvel's Avengers (but even then it's not Young or New Avengers, it's Avengers) where it was advertized as being just like the movies and then suddenly "Nope you play as this brown girl for a chunk of the game instead!". But if you don't see this as an issue, that's fine, but this is why people are upset. And yes you will bring up a certain movie that made over a billion because they duped people into watching it with the IW tease at the end, but this is a different context not relaying on a heartbreaking cliffhanger ending And now for the other issue...you are gonna seethe I bet but whatever.

2. People are concerned this means the game will be agenda driven just like the current comics and what the movies are turning into right now (maybe they will course correct, maybe this won't be quite as bad due to the recent backlash but for now let's just say they are for the sake of argument). Many people compared to a few years ago are far more weary and concerned when it comes to agendas and divisive identity politics rhetoric being put into stories; they aren't interested in being lectured about oppression or how bad whitey is, they just want to have a good time and kickass as Iron Man or Thor. They don't really want to play as a character whose comics are known for pushing political ideology due to the race and religion of the main character; if they did games like Wolfenstein New Colossus would still be getting discussed, but it isn't because the game sucked partially due to the political agenda and New Order, which didn't do that shit, is a vastly superior game. Also the movies have been relatively low on that until recently, and the hype of these movies alone kept them making money even if the end product was mediocre, even if this apparently means we are just seething haters who are pathetic for questioning this unbeatable monolith. After all Star Wars is still just as popular as it once was, and the Mandalorian was a total flop that wasn't at all better than those groundbreaking Sequel movies. Yeah, the Mandalorian, which focused more on story and interesting characters with minimal agenda pushing crap was just a total flop, but the sequel trilogy which was obviously feminist with not at all bland diversity hires was vastly superior. Basically, if you are agenda driven, your product will get forgotten about, but if you aren't you will get staying power and people will be happier about it. And lastly onto the last problem.

3. She seems silly and kinda lame compared to the cooler main Avengers. The other main issue is she's a ordinary and silly looking character. She doesn't have that costume or aura that Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk or Black Widow has; hell she doesn't even have that charisma that Spider-Man typically has, she's just a rather plain looking Arabic girl with stretchy/enlarging powers that make her seem very cartoonish (like Luffy from One Piece). "But Mr Fantastic has the same powers!" Then why not have the Fantastic Four? But that's besides the point and just covering my bases. Many people who saw footage of her growing her hands felt that she had an "uncanny" and "freaky" vibe to them. In a stylized, cartoony setting, these kinds of effects can look okay, but in a realistic style it tends to look freaky and uncomfortable to look at. If you want to see an example of this, here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WC66l5tPIF4 Now, to me, I am not THAT bothered by it, and I know people who aren't, but to many people this just seems weird and since she's being pushed as the main character above the main Avengers this is a bit of an issue. Again, this wouldn't be so bad if she was just a side character who you encounter a way into the game whose not the main character, but she isn't, she's the main narrative focus whom we have to play as. That's the main reason people are mad.

But again, this is just my humble opinion and my absolutely useless viewpoint from seeing discussion on youtube, reddit (where they don't just delete negative responses), steam (look at the discussion forum), and 4chan. I haven't see much hype for it at all and while for all I know it probably will sell well like Jedi Fallen Order (which I frankly don't give a shit about, but that didn't do something unusual or offputting like this Avengers game to most people), you can't deny that the criticism has been valid unless you are out of touch, hang out entirely around fanboys, or you are just "expecting" it to be successful because they got away with it for Captain Marvel (inb4 "You seething it made a billion dollars lololol" when I don't really care and will laugh when CM2 makes much less, unless they can do something truly special to actually redeem that character to keep people from falling asleep) and because Spider-Man and Spider-Verse was a success (because it didn't do shit that seemed weird in a boring way or offputting).

Oh, and lastly. I don't want Kamala Khan to be a bad character I want her to be a good character. Same for Captain Marvel, but unfortunately when agenda is more important than good writing that's when you make boring unlikeable characters that people tend to forget about fairly quickly (or say they like but don't consume). Trust me this isn't out of pure spite, but rather concern and a wish for them to put actual effort into it.

That is all.

Edit for Crackas: Thanks, Well that either implies that she will actually be far worse than what I am claiming or you typed the nonsense you put down just for attention. Either way, you come across as a contrarian when it comes to Marvel especially when you come across as a fanboy in your defenses.
