So let me get this straight... you want millions of people without the protections of being citizens to toil in the fields to pick crops for wages Americans wouldn't, all so you can have access to cheaper goods.

What you're suggesting is unprecedented in the history of the United States! /sneed
It's for their own good as well, otherwise they'd be living in some tropical shithole, killing and sometimes eating each other. Besides, what right does the federal government have meddling in our state economies just because a few moralists and tycoons from New York have the ear of the politicians?

Also how can you oppose illegal immigration when you support the Confederacy which fought for their right to exploit non-citizens in the same way? Checkmate rightoids! /sneed

On abuse of power: I believe that the President illegally solicited the help of foreigners to influence the American political process. On September 19, the President’s lawyer announced proudly on live TV that he had encouraged Ukraine to investigate the Bidens. On September 22, in response to a reporter’s question, the President affirmed it. The President later went on to encourage China to “investigate” his political rival, doubling down on it when asked by reporters.
CIA agent from NYC who somehow landed as a congressman in Michigan flipping a red district to blue. Formerly a Biden advisor, she of course had his support for her congressional run. Her outrage over Trump's actions ring hollow.

Michigan Democrat lawmaker Elissa Slotkin, went home to host a town hall, where she was promptly booed and scolded for being a part of the “coup” against our President.

Now, when you watch this video, you will see that this is probably one of the most “sensible” looking crowds of upper middle class voters ever. This is not radical protesters storming the gates and overtaking a town hall, like we’ve seen liberals do in the past.

These are clearly, very well-informed, educated, smart people who are not the least bit interested in impeachment.

They booed loud, and they asked very poignant questions.

One man wanted to know what the “rush” was with impeachment. He pointed out that impeachment is the utmost serious offense, and wanted to know why on earth they were trying to impeach Trump for this silly call.

Another voter told the lawmaker, “when you fell off the cliff for me, was when you joined the coup against our President.”

Trump Supporters Erupt at Town Hall After Rep. Slotkin Comes Out in Favor of Impeachment
By Jack Phillips

Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) drew backlash at a contentious town hall meeting in Rochester, Michigan, when she tried to explain why she is voting for articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump.

Slotkin, who represents a district Trump won in 2016, had remained undecided until the morning of Dec. 16, when she penned an opinion piece for the Detroit Free Press.

As she tried to offer an argument to her constituents in the town hall meeting, a chorus of boos and jeers erupted.

“The thing that [was] different for me is this very, very basic idea that the president of the United States would reach out to a foreign power … for personal political gain,” she said at around the 27-minute mark in a video of the event, echoing claims made by Democratic House leaders. In the middle of the sentence, audience members loudly booed and tried to shout her down.

Some audience members tried to support her stance on impeachment—clapping and cheering later on in the speech as Slotkin explained herself. “I will stick to that regardless of what it does to me politically,” she told the town hall amid cheering and booing.

However, as Slotkin continued to speak about impeachment, the crowd of naysayers persisted.

On Facebook, some people wrote that they support her, but a number of people disagreed and indicated they would seek to vote her out of office.

Slotkin’s position on impeachment could be the beginning of the end of her congressional career. She narrowly defeated incumbent Rep. Mike Bishop (R-Mich.) by 3.8 percentage points in 2016, while Trump carried her district by 7 percentage points in 2016, according to CNN.

A local woman posted a video to Twitter on Dec. 16 that shows what appears to be Trump supporters at her town hall meeting. “Slotkin put politics above her constituents—overriding the will of the American people for her own political gain. And Michiganders have had enough,” she wrote.

A Getty photo showed the Trump supporters holding signs with anti-Slotkin and anti-impeachment slogans such as “Impeach Slotkin,” and “Rep. Slotkin, use your integrity to vote No on impeachment.”

In the Free Press article, Slotkin wrote, “To be clear, presidents from both parties have leveraged the powerful role of the United States to get foreign countries to do what’s in our interest.”

She claimed that the difference is that “President Trump used the power of the presidency for his own benefit, to give himself some advantage in the very election that would determine whether he remained in office.”

House Democrats allege that Trump abused his power by withholding foreign aid to Ukraine to secure investigations against a potential 2020 rival, former Vice President Joe Biden and son Hunter Biden, who sat on the board of Ukrainian gas firm Burisma Holdings—which has long accused of corruption—while his father was in office.

Trump’s opponents focused the claims on a July 25 phone call between the president and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky suggesting Trump was waging a quid pro quo campaign. However, Zelensky, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko, and top Zelensky aide Andriy Yermak have denied there was any pressure or quid pro quo involved in their dealings with the White House. Trump also released a transcript of the call, which doesn’t show evidence of a quid pro quo.

The 31 members of Congress “will have to answer to their constituents come 2020,” Trump wrote on Twitter over the weekend, quoting a campaign aide. “If you look at the facts, there’s no crime, there’s no witness, there’s no evidence, there’s no victim, President Zelensky said there was absolutely no pressure. I don’t know of any crime that was committed where the actual victim wasn’t aware of it….and, they got the call, they got the meeting, and they got the money.”

Tell me more about how much those marches changed things. And all the miles of wall they stopped. And all the judges they blocked. And all the fossil fuels kept in the ground.

This broad is basically admitting loser leftists protest just for the dopamine hit. I bet these marches tomorrow get less people than a high school JV football game.

Didn't Miller get #woke at some point in the last few years? Maybe he got tired of people calling "Whoreswhoreswhores!" at him and thought if he went SJW the crybullies would start defending him instead of calling for his execution.

One of DC's top editors is Andy Khouri, who pretty much openly admits to abusing his position towards running a blacklist to deny anyone remotely conservative or not sufficiently "woke" any chance at working at DC.

And he's gotten power enough that he most likely has told Miller he had to repent and renounce all previous conservative statements and turn out a book shitting on Trump, or else Khouri would ensure he blackball Millar from working at DC ever again.

Hillary's not running, the Iowa caucus is less than 2 months away. If she was going to jump in she would have had to do it at the latest right after Bloomberg announced and started pouring money into the campaign.

It's to bad though. If she would have done it there would have almost certainly been a brokered convention that would be a totally hilarious shitshow.

One scenario floating around is that Hillary WILL run, but because she's a cunt who can't play fair, she's decided to not bother with the primaries and wholesale STEAL the nomination at the convention.

The current rules for the DNC Convention is that if you win a state, that state's super delegates are bound to vote for whoever wins that state for the first round of voting for the nomination. Year's passed, the superdelegates could vote for whoever they wanted and Hillary used that trick to ensure the super-delegates were loyal to her and openly declare they were loyal to her during the primaries, fuck who actually won the state, which is how she fucked over Bernie and had the resources to make Obama give her a cushy cabinet position, as she was willing to burn the DNC to the ground in 2008 via her superdelegate army to secure the nomination over the will of the primary voters who wanted Obama.

If no nominee is selected on the first round of voting, due to no one having a majority? Superdelegates are unbound for the second ballot vote and can vote for whoever they want.

Which, as rumored, is how Hillary will get the nomination.

Rig the first round ballot so no one wins and then swoop down like an evil witch to steal the nomination via having the superdelegates go rogue and vote for her and none of the other nominees. It's one of the reasons it's been rumored why Warren and Sanders haven't been kneecapped and forced out of the race yet. And why some people have alleged that Biden is still allowed to be in the running. Biden doesn't have a majority due to Sanders and Warren being in the race and Warren and Biden themselves, effectively divide the progressive voting block.

Hillary knows she won't survive an actual primary season, but she can steal the nomination in a coup and use fear, intimidation, and threats to make the party fall in line and the spectre of Trump getting a second term to cow the public and media to back her.

It could work provided the public still trusted the media. What the Dems lost in the last 8 or so years wasn't control of it, but the ability to have it propagandize in a way that was just subtle enough it could be denied. When Trump was elected, they nakedly declared war on him, and don't realize that's where everyone right of Stalin stopped listening to what they had to say.

The loss of trust in the media happened in the second Obama term.

(((They))) got cocky and greedy when Obama got re-elected and took it as a sign that the lunatic left agenda was being accepted at a faster rate than expected since Obama getting elected and re-elected, gay marriage being legalized, and SOME form of major health care reform all passing in a four year period made (((them))) think that they could put the peddle to the metal and accelerate like crazy.

But they fucked up HUGE with a little thing called Gamergate, which was used as a test run to smear and silence criticism in advance of the Clinton Restoration finally happening, at long last. They gave away their entire gameplan and lost a generation and worse, it basically was a bullet to the brain for Generation X/Generation Y trusting the liberal media by showing they were WORSE than the right wing media that they were always told was the real "fake news" growing up.

Trump was just the cherry on the ice cream sunday in that he just couldn't be stopped, in part because Trump went full populist at a time when the nation was DESPERATE for a populist leader and the left couldn't just do the smart thing and de-escalate, due to them having bet EVERYTHING on acceleration of the SJW agenda that they couldn't retreat with having to cede ground they had gained under Obama. Especially since Hillary was supposed to become President and become the "enlightened despot" who would rule with an iron fist using the dictator powers that the Presidency had acquired under Bush II and expanded further/codified as the new permenant status quo under Obama.

You forget a lot of that 20 million is people who can, but elect not to, return home. Actually plenty of them do return home for short visits but then come back. Once the checks stop coming, they go home and stay there.
And any roll out of threat-of-charge e-verify would take years to implement & enforce. You couldn't turn it on over night, and even if you could the court challenge alone would likely take a minimum of 5 years.

You're thinking of the wrong level of chaos.
Mexico gets almost 26 Billion dollars in remittances every year, all but 500 million of that is from the US. That is money sent back officially, that doesn't count Jose rolling back with the c-bill he made waiting at the home depot.

Mexico's economy is about 1 trillion. That means, optimistically, if Mexico's citizens are prevented from working in the US illegally, their economy loses about 3% of his value. To put that in perspective, that is how much the US economy fell post-2008 mortage bubble. Mexico would be straight fucked, and would probably crash further as collapses snowball; Mexico is also much less friendly for foreign investment, so there wouldn't be a quick savior bailout to recapitalize them. They aren't exactly stable on a good day, and that would likely cause uprisings; along with unemployed, it'd be a huge boost to the cartels.

I'm fine with construction crews getting filled out with coolies. I'm good with seasonal pickers. As long as everyone is documented properly.

One thing about Mexico though, is that they engage in some serious Purge-style juking of their economic stats. As in, they encourage people flooding into the US illegally both for the cash they send back to pump up the Mexican economy (while the government is doing the bare minimum to support the actual people in Mexico themselves) but also as a means to getting rid of the unemployed by having them become the US's problem, which lets them be omitted when the Mexican government tallies up their unemployment numbers.

No. I know you are being facetious, but what I am saying is that a temporary job, which is not permanent, does not need to be done by a citizen. They are supposed to be brought in under H-2a - and some growers do their shit correct, but many don't or only bring some legally and pad out the rest with illegals.

This is not a job you could do permanently, help is only needed for a few weeks or a couple months at the most. They get a comparatively big paycheck and then go back home. Only the workers come over, no family/kids.

To reinforce, seasonal temp work is something that the government, and native citizens, actually have incentive to allow.

Generally, you need a lot of people for a very temporary position which is hard to fill. Opening that up to, legal, immigrants allows the work to be done while being an economic boon to that region when the stuff is sold. You still have permanent positions for the people who actually grow it, you have permanent positions for those who transport it, etc. Those positions are held by citizens.

Shit like this makes me wonder if the Dems know they're fucked in 2020 so they're throwing everything they can at impeachment in pure desperation. The only way to explain the self-destructive behaviour.

Found this schizo lol

I could honestly see Hilary doing that but as is the Democrats luck these days it will only serve to further help Trump.

This is where the top down world view of Democrats and their inability to learn hurt them. They still haven't learned that although they can control the party machinery directly, they have no such direct control over the electorate. They can propagandize, but if the electorate doesn't follow there's nothing the DNC can do.

There's no forcing Bernie from the race. Like Trump, he derives his power from the number and enthusiasm of his supporters. Unless they can pry the Bernie Bros away from Bernie, the DNC is powerless to stop him.

Same with Biden. He doesn't need anyone's permission. Until POCs decide not to support him at a 60% clip, the DNC has to just sit back and watch. I think it's pretty obvious that they have been trying to knock him out, it just doesn't seem like it because like much of what they do, it's been completely ineffectual.

Everyone knew for years Sleepy Joe was Creepy Joe. But all of those women with stories about being touched came out of the woodwork all at once. Suspicious ain't it? You can tell the start of an orchestrated attack because it almost always begins with the most potent attacks, a sexual assault accusation or something similar. Or a racism accusation attack, like with Buttigieg.

In English, there's a specific order that adjectives go in, although to most native speakers it's subconscious and intuitive. Size before color, for example. It's 'Clifford the big red dog.' 'Clifford the red big dog' just sounds wrong.

There seems to be a similar order with smear jobs. First sexual misconduct, then racism, then other attacks. But always those two first. After the improper touching accusations were levied against Biden what was next? Another #MeToo style attack in the form of Biden being complicit in the Anita Hill testimony. That didn't work so what was next? Racism attacks based on Biden's role in passing tough on crime and drug legislation in the early 90s. And then Kamala with the, 'I'm not saying you're racist, but...' forced busing position.

Buttigieg didn't have anything with sexual misconduct, or maybe he did but they're afraid to touch it because he's gay. So they've jumped straight to racism. It's always the same formula and order.

No. I know you are being facetious, but what I am saying is that a temporary job, which is not permanent, does not need to be done by a citizen.
I'm not being facetious. I'm serious as a heart attack. There is absolutely no reason to bring in non citizens to work the fields unless you implicitly or explicitly concede that the intention is for them to work for lower wages than an American citizen would. There's no way around that.

Either pay high enough wages that full citizens will do it, or find some way to use automation and technology to improve productivity. But to use desperate people for cheap labor gives me the creeps. It feels like something Kamala Harris would endorse.

It's been a few months since I asked; but has anything come out of the seemingly pointless continued "investigations" over Russia, and this more recent impeachment shit? It just feels like the same stuff is repeating itself.

Tldr the Democrats are guilty of everything they say Trump is.

The ones that do it right pay more than minimum wage, especially for returners. The thing is unless you pay them 26x minimum wage, a two-week pick will not let someone in the US support themselves for the rest of the year. The two-week paycheck will basically cover most routine expenses for the the next several months for someone from mexico.
Logistics are also harder to set up in the US. You might be able to find enough folks to fill out your shifts state side, but they'll be spread out. You can work with recruiters in Mexico and Carribean to get farm workers there to come do the agricultural work they're already doing on a small-scale or ad-hoc basis for a few weeks for what is - to them - an astronomical wage. They are all located in small areas, and you get them all on one plane.
This is not a new system. This has been going on since the 1800s. They pushed it into high gear during WWI and into maximum overdrive for WWII. Its also not unique to the US in any sense.

And its not just picking; You get imports for other seasonal activities like fishing as well. There is furious activity for two weeks, and then there is nothing to do but wait for next year.

I worked for a company that did meat processing. They had H-2a workers from Guatamala to fill out the night shift during part of the year. They were officially documented and everything above board, and they got roughly paid the same as citizens (non-temp employees got small raises the longer they were with the company).
Despite being in the middle of a low-income neighborhood and the fact they were paying 2.5X the then-minimum wage (plus a scaling bonus if your shift beat production quota). They gave part-time workers full benefits, had nearly unlimited 1.5x overtime for anyone who wanted it, and offered employees at-cost anything the company produced.....

With all this: They struggled to fill shifts, and could not get enough people to fill out the night shift (which only ran for 2-3 months twice a year to boost production for big consumption holidays) without resorting to hiring Guats*. Because shifting & cutting giant slabs of meat around is hard, dirty, bloody work and no one in the area wanted to do it, let alone do it all night.
And again, 60-90 days after mad season starts, its done. Finito. No more night shift, and Guats go back home with fat fucking paychecks. A few months later, they're back for the next rush season.

So I don't have too much sympathy for the "we have to ensure 100% of all jobs are citizens" line of thought.

*Offtopic interesting note: One of the foremen told me about the time they wanted to try out another foreign worker sourcing firm, this one was based in mexico. They basically ran both companies concurrently, the one recruiting guatamalans and the one recruiting mexicans.
They ended the association with the mexican company after two weeks when some of the Mexicans tried to go after the Guatamalans with knives.

It's been a few months since I asked; but has anything come out of the seemingly pointless continued "investigations" over Russia, and this more recent impeachment shit? It just feels like the same stuff is repeating itself.

Democrats are still doing reruns about Russ... I mean, Ukraine Interfering in our election. They've tried nailing him with something, anything, but the best thry can come up with is a bunch of read-between-the-lines stuff that isn't really all that damning anyways ("Oh no! Bad Orange Man is setting conditions on giving away literally billions!"). The desiccated lizard queen that is Pelosi is desperate to salvage something out of her all or nothing gambit, so the charges keep changing, literally through focus groups and polling, becoming ever vaguer. It went from election interference to political corruption to quid pro quo to bribery to obstruction of Congress to abuse of power. Eventually, they will literally degrade into charging him with Orange Man Bad. McConnell has said the Senate will conduct it as an actual trial, with the ability to cross-examine and call witnesses, making Adam Schiff, the pressure-washed gerbil looking motherfucker, appear an even bigger ass than when his star witness admitted he edited the transcript to seem worse.

They've tried restarting the entire taxes scandal, but it's like a dead lawnmower: no matter how much noise it makes when you try starting it, it's never going anywhere. They also can't grasp most people hate paying taxes, so trying to slam someone over legal loopholes or taking the maximum deductions is about as horrifying as going 60 in a 55 mile zone. No one cares that your wife's son needs money for dey programs, bugman.

They'll probably try another sex scandal soon, but they pretty much fell flat on their face with E. Jean Carroll's ravishing "rape is sexy" tale that she literally stole from a Law & Order episode, so maybe not. If they do, they'll have to go even more bananas. Turns out having your retarded pet monkeys in the media cranking out sex positivity shock stories 24/7/365 about how much they can dilate their anus with the help of cylamidia-riddled paraguayan midget prostitutes, numbs the scandal of regular adulterous sex. "Trump once fucked all the women at a Hooters, while Melania had all the men dress up as a chickens and stand around singing the Chicken Truck song off-key! You totally think he's the degenerate now and will support us, right?"

They'll probably also try fear-mongering about Pence cos-playing Raiden for our 8th consecutive pride month, especially if they wanted to push Buttigeg, the unseasoned mashed potatoes of the candidates, who is so bland that you can project anything you want on him and makes most people say "I can't believe it's not plastic!". Of course, gays are bad now because they won't undergo conversion therapy, no wait -maoist struggle sessions, no wait -critcal examination of their desires to sleep with their preferred gender identifier instead of preferred genitalia, or maybe the other way around, so who knows.

Meanwhile, Barr, Horowitz and all Trump's investigators are publishing huge reports detailing very specific crimes, all with legit evidence. Despite the colluding press running cover, they've been forced into defending themselves by saying they're not corrupt, just incompetent. They know that if they don't win big now or in the election, Trump is going to seek revenge. He's already captured the court system, and is setting up assembly lines for prosecution when he begins his purge. The god emperor is about to go old testament when he wins a second term.

So in the end, the best pieces the Democrats have left to prevent total catastrophe, are the day-drunk lizard queen, the bug-eyed schiff head, and their clown car of misfit candidates, starring the demented commie, demented pedo, squaw pale-moon snow-face, and a variety of participant ribbons.
