Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Nothing like a good Dumpster Fire on Christmas to bring us all together

Let us warm ourselves on this cold winter night

As for Driver being Leia and Han's kid, I could forgive him not being handsome, as some people just get the worst combination of features from their parents, but he doesn't even look like them or his grandparents. Especially the nose.

I can't believe I missed this post. You can't tell me that Traitor wasn't one of the most compelling pieces of Star Wars media. His insistence on saving the Vong is what drives the end of the series, too, and the fact that he achieved that goal speaks to the uniqueness of NJO.
Speaking only for myself Traitor was probably one of the best novels that came out of the New Jedi Order era and also a great first Star Wars novel from Matt Stover. If you've never read any of his non-Star Wars novels, I completely recommend them.

:story:

I'm getting flashbacks to Lost. JJ knew what a turd that would be when the finale dropped and was acting nervous as fuck. Not even his most devoted of fans would defend that disaster.

History repeats itself. I can't wait for reviews.

I can't wait for JJ Abrams to get his Icarus moment. He viewed his Star Trek movies as the trial run for getting his hands on Star Wars. Yet with each iteration of nu-trek the fans abandoned it and the profits collapsed. Yet somehow it convinced the powers that be in Hollywierd to give JJ control of Star Wars. And he tried to do to Star Wars what he did to Star Trek, as if doing the exact same thing that failed with Trek would magically work in Star Wars. The absolute arrogance of the fool. What he did with Star Trek was obnoxious, but people could hand wave it away with the voodoo of multiple timeline nonsense. Which IMO was a cop out.

They can't do that with Star Wars. And now the creative bankruptcy of this hack is laid bare. He knows how to put on the Bread and Circus, but he does not know how to create art. But he deluded himself into thinking he was a master of the latter rather then the former. And now he will burn for it.

I finally caught up to now from all the way in 1023. I have now been left with nothing but hollowness in my body and soul and just tired anger towards the Rat in killing a childhood that I didn't have and having to fill it with shows that range from mediocre to great, but now this may slowly taint my love for everything outside of the movies, which feels worse than having no emotional attachment to everything around me. If someone truly replaced Abeloth (thank you for giving me a good reason to call her that), then I hope that there can be another revision to the EU, perhaps bringing back old with a mixture of the good/interesting parts of the nu-EU along with a complete revision of the nu-Trilogy to something...better than fucking this so that the prequels can go back to being the more controversial out of the 3 trilogies.

Is it normal to feel your soul dying and wishing for death (either on yourself or another person) over something relatively mundane than the loss of a loved one? Because it's gnawing inside of me.

The writer for that also did the much better novelization of the Revenge of the Sith, Matthew Stover IIRC. He was one of the few writers to really have a concept of the scale of the Star Wars Galaxy, as opposed to Mandolorian Syphilitis riddled Karen "3 Million Clonetroopers" Travisty.

Eh, the Angry nerd in me finds solace in Warhammer 40k, at least in my experience. Never played the board games, or any of the video games if I am being honest. But the lore is fun to read and listen to, and as all pop culture gets taken over its the one thing (for now) that remains.

When all else fails, you can trust Imperial justice to account in all balance. The heretic and the xeno will not be suffered, for the Emperor Protects.

Exactly what I thought. Kill the sequel era painfully, then incorporate the Mandalorian, Jedi Fallen Order, maybe Rebels (I can't remember if there are any glaring contradictions between it and Legends), Rogue One (somehow) and maybe Solo into Legends (I don't know if I'm missing any other good media), delete the dumb shit in Legends and have that synthesis be the new canon going forward. Then, don't do anything in the New Republic era to let things settle and instead adapt KOTOR.

Pretty sure Rebels is the show that fucked around with time travel toward the end (I don't know, I haven't seen it).

Maybe incorporate some of the, at most, "meh" of the dumb parts of Legends and hand it to writers that are competent and big fans of the show with maybe some heavy reviewing. Hell you can keep the lesbian Aphra but don't go down the same route as before. Also call me an autist if you want but for whatever reason, possibly the EDGE, I like the edgy C3PO and R2D2 that're made for murder as Vader's droid companions. I do like that at the later years as Vader, bit by bit of Anakin starts to surface so he decides to get those droids to replace them but be useful on the job. There are potential in making dumb things cool, like the Mon Calamari Grievous cyborg that was trained with an entire group of cyborgs to replace Vader.

It was right at the very end, only used once and possibly can't be used again.

I've already mentioned how Rebels effectively axes the Thrawn Trilogy and screws over Thrawn himself and Rukh. It also claims hyperdrive technology was invented by watching space octo whales fart hyperdrives out of their asses. Filoni also creates Jacen Syndulla at the end to replace Jacen Solo since he can't exist under Disney because of Emo Ren. If you just axe most of the later seasons and a few episodes here and there, it could work.

Rogue One though is a tougher cookie, and one that doesn't lend itself to an easy fit with the superior Dark Forces storyline, especially with it having a complete Death Star plan and having characters which are essentially knockoffs of Jan and Kyle. Its also weird how they changed the Battle of Scarif to take place on a planet called Scarif, yet the director of the film claims to have read nothing from the EU yet chose the name Scarif because of a misspelling on his coffee mug. Its either bullshit on his part or a weird twist of fate that just wanted this movie to have one EU reference.

Mandalorian is far more easier to fit though than any other. For now anyway. You only need to edit out the Disney references and Disney aliens which would be relatively easy and its only about 5 minutes or so of footage in total.

Jedi Fallen Order is also possible but requires some editing. Like replacing the Zeffo with the Kwa and adding some fucking Rancors to Dathomir. Also not make Debra Wilson and Ginger boy's character models so ugly, but that's not a top priority. Also axe what they did to Ilum in the game and make sure it doesn't turn into Starkiller.

Former Lurker here.

I thought I was done with star wars but seeing those leaks makes me feel some kind of dissonance:
I enjoy seeing a garbage fire burn more intensely but I also feel a small amount of sadness seeing a part of my childhood in this state.

It's kinda like seeing an amusement park you used to go to as a kid being dilapidated. You might not have gone to it in years but it was still a source of good memories.

You're much nicer than me, I'd toss every single Marvel Star Wars comic into the trash and give the license back to Dark Horse. There's not enough good to keep it, in my opinion, and even the good Vader comics overwrite the old canon in some respects. I'm not averse to keeping some changes, though. For instance, changing Vader's castle to Mustafar was ultimately a good decision, despite my love for Vjun. Just retcon Vjun as a secondary hideout.

Eh, you could have Thrawn come back only to get exiled again, setting up the trilogy. Jacen Syndulla doesn't really contradict anything, either, Jacen could just be a common name.

EDIT: Oh, shit, Rukh died. Yeah, that puts a wrench in things.

Yeah, there's really no way to reconcile that. Tantive IV can't be at both places.

I remember quite a few people defending it, mainly people that would go on to be the blue checkmark and shills defending TLJ now. Cody Johnson even got a shout out from the jew that made the Leftovers after Cody mocked people pissed about the ending of Lost

Wait, how does a human and a twi'lek reproduce? I didn't watch the show, so please tell me he was made in a lab.

Rukh is dead though.

They made a baby and he has no twilek genes for some reason. Only green hair and green tipped ears. Kid doesn't even look like a neat hybrid, he looks he has the downs. Unlike the two twilek human hybrids from Filoni Wars.

That boy ain't right.

Also a long standing rule in SW is that humans and near-humans with a similar genetic template, anatomy and/or origin can reproduce. Twileks though were always a bit inconsistent with reproduction, mostly because of Karen Traviss since she said one thing (no babies between humans and twileks) while other writers said they could have babies.

See here's the thing about creating stuff, everything is like coal, there is the potential of it becoming a diamond, but it requires a lot of pressure (effort) to form it and requires maintenance (creativity) to make it shine bright. Some comics can be good in the right hands, but then again some comics shouldn't exist at all.

It's just mating between two humanoid aliens, he's not the first hybrid of a human and Twi'lek.

Jesus Christ, please tell me it's not real:🤢🤢🤢🤮

I have no words... it way worse as I thought. Rey is such a Mary Sue the two protagonist of the 2 past trilogies are telling Rey how awesome he is.

I mean one thing is to shill Rey, another is to shit on Luke and Rey and tell them they are inferior to Rey and how they ae failures compared to her.

Jesus Christ.
