I could also imagine the concept of hell being foreign to them because one character is a gay obsessed with drugs and sex. Sure they can say it's bad but it's hell and one could imagine the demons of hell would be pure flat-out bloody thirsty hedonist that would symbolize all sorts of vices and sins.
Seen one pilot and it's animation isn't bad. Heard it's jokes are shit but I'm meh to it since I just want to see what the fuss is all about. Probably could end up shit like other cartoons or not but then again who knows how this all ends up when the drama makes it more known to people that don't watch than the cartoon itself.

Well I mean by that how autists, mainly high-functioning ones, can appear normal but still have the social issues of an autist like just being quiet to other people. It literally makes it hard to find a job even when they're applying for a job that doesn't require much customer interaction. It is a real struggle for people who want to be useful.

Never seen the show, probably won't, since I'm an old white guy and clearly not the intended audience. What's interesting about it, though, is how worked up its obnoxious fans and equally obnoxious detractors become, even though they both seem to have pretty similar opinions about it. Both sides seem to like the art and think the writing is okay-ish, but loathe each other anyway. The internet really does make people act like combative tribals.

SJWs believe their ideals are only valid in mass produced, awful, milquetoast popculture garbage that (they think) the brainless masses will consume and instantly convert them. SJWs believe that if you see something, you will instantly be brainwashed by it. So their focus is mass media. Look at anything that becomes popular, they swarm right fucking to it.
For example, Star Wars is important because its a cultural icon that reaches billions. So they believe that by making it completely sexless, loveless and have the hero being a beige asexual android who may as well not possess any genitalia, they think that they can convert everyone who sees it to their message. Same with Ghostbusters. Which is why they're OBSESSED with pop culture. They believe it is a device for conversion first, entertainment...well, a distant second to that. Especially if this pop culture is traditionally white and male and insular. They believe that they can use this as conversion. They also cannot infiltrate culture by PoCs, because their beliefs don't allow them to do so. (The exceptions are Asians, who are Shrodinger's Minority)
The problem is that people are incredibly complicated and often are extremely skeptical of anything being fed to them, especially in their entertainment, unless it resonates with them on a personal level. See how even nations that attempt mass brainwashing and clamping down of rights cannot control the thoughts of their populace. People use media in North Korea on USBs and use it to consume anything non-state run. Even in a hermit nation where everything is extraordinarily tightly controlled, you can't influence people. The more information available to people, the harder it is to control them. And no matter how hard you lock your nation down, people will always seek free expression. You can make it punishable by death and people will still go out of their way to find something that resonates with them, doesn't follow the beliefs of state or party.
Its also why most SJW media, if not all of it, constantly fails. Because it is joyless garbage spawned to try to convert you to a particular ideology. The art they produce possesses barely any genuine emotion (if any), only manipulation. Making their entertainment function like propaganda without a state-run machine, violence or influence behind it. Which makes it highly, HIGHLY ineffective. Propaganda without the state, even mass produced and seeded, does not function. Look at how hated journalists are, and their stories are basically functionally identical. Even that propaganda machine can't get more than 20% of people to like them.
Independent media, art, games, hobbies are generally detested by them because they're very niche, have fanbases that are extremely difficult to infiltrate and are generally do not have mass appeal. Independent creators are also a lot more likely to listen to people who pay them money than external agitators, so not only are they: 1) Hard to break into 2) Don't have the appeal that they crave 3) They're generally ignored because creators can't (or won't) listen to people who don't purchase their shit. Independence also offers independence from shareholders, boards, public relations departments, human resources, things like that. So there's FAR less they can do to influence them. Independent creators with worshipful fanbases can basically say "Fuck off faggot." "WAHHH I WANNA TALK TO YOUR BOSS" "Fuck you faggot, I am the boss." There's no power that they can flex. They can use harassment, sure. But the problem is they've used this so much on other people, its impossible to ignore. So they can try this, but their shtick is so known and so old that fans will simply jump back at them and rip them a new asshole or they'll get the same medicine back to them.
See the guy that tried to meme on them who was instantly torn apart. Fanbases don't really tolerate this shit anymore and outside agitators, even simple meming ones, are viewed by fans as actively hostile attempts to destroy something they like. People have seen things they love get smashed because of people like this, so they're extraordinarily quick to react now.
SJWs don't really understand 'hell' because they've basically abandoned religion. 'Hell' has become a 'hip' place in a lot of SJW media, not a pit of damnation, pain and suffering for the dregs of humanity to go. So the problem is not only is redemption alien to them, they've got this concept that hell is hip and funny, so when a show basically goes 'No, Hell is where bad people go and even though this is funny, the entire cast is fucking awful people'. It doesn't add up in their small pea brains, so they don't respond.
It isn't about any of that. They don't care about female created series. They genuinely do not. Its 'What can you do for me'. Basically, what fits their message and their goals is the only thing they care about. Anything that runs opposite to this is ignored, shunned or attacked. Journalists are identical. What can you do for them and their friends. Since their friends and people on their political spectrum are attacking this show, it doesn't beehove them to attack these people. I mean, everyone is used to this behavior from journalists. They're also terrified they'll be turned on by their own as well for daring to attack fellow progressives. Most of these people are fucking terrible human beings and I'm sure there's plenty of skeletons they can dig up and beat for any 'traitors'.
Because it serves their agenda. If its a mass produced, 'female pop culture character, sexless, romanceless, boring, beige' it is perfect for them. Because they can imprint whatever dumb dogmatic shit they want to it and think that it will convert the masses or children to their cause. When it is simply mass produced corporate garbage that will shiv them in the liver with a long screw driver (they've got to get through all the folds of fat first) the first second their shit risks their corporate profits.
Can't let those expensive degrees based off piss ugly animation styles that Japan curb stomps into the ground go to waste.
The fact of the matter is that the fans are forced to become obnoxious because if they aren't, they risk these cunts destroying something they like. So its basically come to prison rules for fandoms now. You see someone shitting on the thing you like mildly, ten of your friends find them in the yard, beat the ever living shit out of them and start stabbing them in the kidneys until the guards stop using bean bags and start using live ammo.
Everyone has seen what has happened to Star Wars and Ghostbusters. So they've adopted a 'FUCK THAT' policy. They no longer care about the media, because the media will never represent them fairly anyway and they know it. So they just start going for the jugular. Its why fandoms have become far more aggressive. Its a lot harder to subvert and destroy something when everyone is basically openly hostile to you.
I predict you're going to see a lot more fandoms become a lot more hostile to outsiders, thanks to Disney Star Wars and Sony Ghostbusters, as well as the media blanket trashing fans of anything they don't like. I mean when you see the visible smearing of fans like Disney and its shills did, you just become hyper aggressive in response. Blame Disney for this escalation. They tried so hard to gaslight everyone over their fucking terrible handling of Star Wars, it basically ended up filling the entire internet with natural gas, so the slightest spark and anything explodes, because no one wants their fandom to end up like Star Wars did.
