Community Munchausen's by Internet (Malingerers, Munchies, Spoonies, etc) - Feigning Illnesses for Attention

With all the pageantry and gore and senseless surgery in this thread the first thing to leave me speechless in a long time is a tee shirt that says "not faking"

:story:
For me it’s a tie between that and bethany’s “anaphylaxis is my cardio” and “when in doubt, Benadryl” shirts.

Side note, her redbubble site has a bio that’s extremely telling...
Without my poor health, my life would likely be significantly more boring, so I tend to keep a light attitude about these things.

Of course, it helps that I have a strange and slightly sarcastic sense of humor. I make jokes during blood draws and pride myself in being my nurse’s favorite patient thanks to my winning personality. In the end, this benefits not just me but also people around me. On my Instagram, where I post daily thoughts on living with disability, I often have people who learn to love themselves more by seeing my outlook.
winning personality indeed

She gets abscesses in odd spots, in my completely layperson's opinion it looks like she involved a needle at least some of the times. She doesn't even need to inject anything, just using a needle that isn't sterile can do it.

Her IG says she’s a mental health nurse... I’m a healthcare professional myself, so if she truly is a nurse, she would have access to all sorts of medical equipment. In psych, they aren’t good at keeping track of things (equipment, meds, patients, etc) and so many patients come in with these god awful, disgusting infections - MRSA, staph, you get the idea. So if she works as a psych nurse, not only would she have access to medical supplies, but would also have easy access to individuals with legit bacterial/viral infections that she could use to infect herself. It’s disgusting. The one picture of her arm looks like someone dripped lava on her or something.

The 'I'm not faking' shirt makes me more suspicious. It's the munchie equivalent of someone stating 'not a pedo' in their bio. (BTW We have a lolcow who actually did that, it just made his situation so much worse).
Hah, who? I'm always interested in new cows but there are so many on here it's kind of overwhelming.

I don't see any evidence on her IG of her actually being a psych nurse.

Psychiatric patient, sure.

Maybe she did part of the training and just claims shes a psych nurse on Instagram. Or maybe she got her qualifications but fucked up and turned to munching.

I wouldn't be surprised. People go into psych nursing thinking they're going to counsel a 16F post suicide attempt. Very fulfilling!

Then the BKA leaps off the bed and crawls down the hallway faster than Usain Bolt.

I just went on IG to see if maybe I could catch something in the background that would either confirm or rule out her actually being a nurse, so I started scrolling to start from the beginning but jesus! How many pictures does she have?!?!?!

Be back in an hour... or five lol

I scrolled through her Instagram and found this post and a few others referencing her going to Cardiff University for mental health nursing. I couldn't bear to slog through her nearly 2k posts that are mostly schlocky motivational quotes and her godawful face, so I don't know if there's anything definitive about her actually working as a nurse or not. Though her health issues apparently arose shortly before this post, and she started posting pictures in the hospital, apparently for stomach and esophageal ulcers. Funnily enough, amidst a lot of posts of alcoholic drinks and pints of ice cream.

Edit to add this post that made me laugh.

One more edit before I hunker down for the night--interestingly her Twitter bio says "MH nursing student" yet her Instagram bio is "MH nurse".

She did sign up for university, to be a mental health care nurse. Not sure if she got a degree, but she's had some education. She got a book. I didn't take a screenshot but it's on there, someone bought her a book for class.

She says she has (and I'm thinking it's true) a pituitary tumor and addison's disease, and has had an adrenal crisis. That would explain the crazy behavior.

This pic is from very early in her IG, those cheeks, bulimic?

eta: i meant to include that her first hospital admission and dx was bleeding ulcers - caused by purging?
She posted like she drank a lot of alcohol, too.

Notice how she was built like a fucking linebacker back in the day

Then she gets half her stomach removed and a TPN

#weightlossjourney? I guess that's one way to stop being an alcoholic porker.

I'm baffled by the #weightlossjourney, too. is she being sarcastic? she stopped being able to eat by mouth and became TPN dependent before the stomach surgery.

Her Tumblr bio (archive) mentions being in school to be a mental health nurse.
There's a storm inside of me!! i will keep fighting. Student mental health nurse, dancer, PTSD, half a stomach, bleeding stomach ulcers, gastroparesis, intestinal failure, Addison's disease and pituitary tumour!! TPN dependant!!!
It also features talk of sexual abuse/assault, suicide, and greatest hits such as:
1. Deep quote about opening up old wounds on purpose, which is conveniently specific.

2. I am sicker than my friend who has cancer. I am mad because she is mad at me for exposing her to my homemade cesspool.

3. My friends don't believe me when I tell them I'm dying.

4. Use your wounds for a purpose!

I dont think tanning is a good idea with all the scars, but who cares about skin? If she has bullous pemphigoid breakouts, which is likely comparing that clinic form, pics of those giant yellow blisters she has posted, and info from Mayo Clinic, I think maybe the sun is not a good thing for her. Sunlight can trigger it.
Edit: welp, bitch is cray talking about her friend with cancer, who is immunocompromized, getting mad at her for being a nasty mound of plague. Oh but the friend (with her paltry cancer) is the bitch, right?

And don't forget the call-outs on the haydurs.

This incredibly wild story, which could be true, but sure falls into that adventures of baron munchausen category. possible i guess, with conditions as serious as a pituitary tumor and addison's disease - those are pretty nasty on the body.

However, she did not start saying she had a pituitary tumor or addison's until well into her bleeding ulcers journey.
And, she has repeatedly said they were going to do surgery to remove it, but that doesn't appear to have happened. (sorry, no receipts, her IG is huge and I started by saving the gore for dear @Ellesse_warrior. Post your gore publicly and it's fair game to share with the like minded morbidly curious.

Trying to keep an open mind with this one, but holy wow.

And then, we have Kelly of all people liking her posts and giving her some pro-tips. Yikes.
