The Rise of Skywalker: Fails to live up to the worst fucking fanfictions imaginable and manages to piss off literally fucking everybody from haters to media shills to tumblr shippers by being so jawdroppingly shit and lazily written, despite being the finale of the largest sci fi franchise in history and having the full backing of Disney and the shilling of all imaginable media sources in the years leading up to it, and winds up set to be the first big movie to unite both critic and audience ratings in utter contempt

After a bit of enthusiasm that this movie might get shitty reviews out the ass, I think we'll see a flood of shills lifting the score from now on out, but it we can still hope that enough people will rate this shit as the garbage it is, so the score stays a neat low number.

This reminds me of someone saying on twitter that Luke should have been more like Flynn in Tron Legacy.
Yes, the less popular Disney product handled the mentor rule better. I know it was more of the father-son relationship,
but the way Flynn was in isolation but then takes up his role again makes sense for Luke as well IMO.

I hate that they're using the Skywalker theme when there are no Skywalker on screen. This is as bad as the time they re-used "Duel of the Fates" when Maul appeared in a holo-Skype call in the Solo movie, that wasn't Maul's theme.

Here's a Twitter thread defending Rian Johnson, arguing that while a good director, he was the wrong one for Star Wars. Do you think that is true?

The highlighted one definitely strikes me as true, however.

I agree with that sentiment as I have seen some Rian Johnson films and he’s actually a pretty competent director, he just needs to stay away from franchises, or at least have a tard wrangler help him.

I'm briefly browsing this OST and I don't like it. I haven't liked any of his music for this trilogy and I can't exactly pinpoint the reason why. I don't want to accuse him of being lazy and phoning it in but IMHO it's felt like his heart hasn't been in it. There's also the issue that none of the new themes he's created has been memorable compared to what he made in the classic and prequel trilogies.

John Williams is an amazing composer, a fantastic musician, and one of those people who I would love to meet one day. Sadly anything that he has put out for this Nu-Wars has been nothing but rehashes of stuff he's done in the past and it feels like there's a 'ghost writer' helping him phone it in. His name alone will selll audiophiles to watch the movie so it made sense for disney to throw MILLIONS at him to sign his name to this work just so he can do something else.

The man is a legend and his soundtracks moving, inspiring, and lifting you to places in your imagination. These tracks sound....empty.
