To properly parse the current up-downs of Rotten Tomatoes' critic score, it would probably help to compare it to other trilogy enders/movie franchise end movies that tie up loose ends and put a bow on the stories and characters you love.

This is a tough one. I say yes, but I think Disney is quickly going to promote the shit out of Mandalorian....
They know episode 9 is a lost cause, and will try to bury it with baby Yoda.
Fortunately for them(or unfortunately for others), that show is getting better....
Favreau and perhaps Feige may be calling the shots with this franchise in the near future...
I don't think Kennedy is coming out of this in one piece..
Abrams, Kennedy, and Johnson will all be eating shit. Abrams, though, will probably get the worst of it. This could effect his relationship with WB.
Kennedy is on the way out, but this cements it.
Johnson will take the least of it. He will just retreat back to smaller character films. He just won't get a big franchise ever again(he is probably fine with that though)...
He may get a Mandalorian guest directing bid, to save face...
