Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

This actually sums up the whole movie as I understand. Just what the people that didn't like the last Jedi wanted. An even more overpowered bestes evar Mareysue

You think this is all some 4D chess game by George Lucas to tank the reputation of Star Wars as fast as possible so he can swoop in, buy his studio back from a regretful Disney, and instantly be regaled as the God-Visionary he always was by his prodigal fanbase?
Rey Pod racing Paletine while dueling with cgi ewoks does sound more fun.

This got me thinking. What cool and memorable lightsaber v lightsaber fights have we gotten in the ST. Throne room scene in TLJ doesn't count, the Kylo/luke fight doesn't count. Wtf

I'd say the fight in TFA was memorable, even if it did play into that Mystery Box shit of "How can Rey do all this without any training?" but it looked good in the snow and had a classic Star Wars feel to it....

Man does that feel like an eternity ago.

It's more likely it was clever 4D chess by Rian Johnson, he gave SW a mortal wound so it would tank while his movie Knives Out is getting enormous praise and is taking the spotlight as the prime holiday movie to see.

The leaks were right. The story was as creatively bankrupt as they made it out to be.

Star Wars 1977 - 2019
:story:

I didn't plan to see this one in the theater anyway so I'm thankfully for everyone who did go and shared in this thread.

Rey remains and will remain a sugar-coated cipher. A hollow and self-satisfied attempt to bring real world social values to a kiddie space adventure series. I hope Daisy Ridley's career isn't held back because of this role. I like her as an actor.

I caught up with The Mandolorian this weekend and it amazes me how different the stories in who they're trying to reach. Mandolorian doesn't try to be anything but a fun and cool space adventure story. It's not making a statement or trying to win every demographic over with pandering. What would've happened had Disney kept their trilogy that simple?

Untrained non-Force-sensitive dead people returning as Force ghosts*? You better believe it.

*Except this ghost is not transparent because we can't afford to offend China even more.
Not transparent and also not a good parent as per nu-canon, actually.

Anyone have a $ in MILLIONS to how much disney paid Harrison Ford for this one scene?

Makes me wonder...

When Star Wars is rebooted after 15 years, possibly sooner, and after that ends horribly, will people be nostalgic for the JJ trilogy like we feel nostalgic for the prequels?

Not really, because most likely there will be quality Star Wars material in between.

Nothing is getting rebooted. DIsney will just toe dip in various mediums with Star Wars until a set of characters click...

I guarantee Mandalorian is getting a movie at some point. As long as they don't shit the bed in seasom 2.
