One thing I find fucking hilarious about the present day is it makes you miss the days of crass commercialism and empty greed.

People said Lucas only made the Prequel trilogy to sell toys, maybe that's true, but I'll take trying to sell toys over trying to sell weirdo anti-human Cultural Marxism and feminism ala TLJ.

The thing about commercialism is it at least in theory wants you to be happy so you'll keep spending more money, the SJW mentality just wants you to be fucking miserable.

I'll take shallow over pretentious, fun hating nonsense.

My friend showed me this and I can't stop laughing.

These films gave me a new appreciation for Jar Jar binks, I found him less annoying than the protagonist of these films.
That's how much they fucked up with rey and there new characters they introduced. I found Jar Jar more likable and less annoying.

He was an annoying comic relief character but he didn't ruin the movies (other shit did). The hate for that one character was exaggerated.

People can give Jar Jar all the grief they want but he's certainly a better character than some the fanbase fawns over. Take Boba Fett for example.

Boba Fett
+Cool armor
-Watched his dad die like a bitch
-Does nothing of significance and barely speaks
-Can't even catch Han himself
-Killed effortlessly by Han while he's blinded and flailing around like they're in a Three Stooges short

Jar Jar Binks
-Annoying kid appeal character
+Has actual plot relevance and dialogue
+Helps Palpatine come to power
+Lives a long fulfilling life in a powerful Senate position

Another thing that bothers me about the sequels is the names. In the OT we had names like Luke, Leia, Han, Ben, and Lando. Only the last one is outlandish, but in a good way. They all sound like names someone might actually have.

The the PT. We have Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme. Not necessarily regular names, but they SOUND like names nonetheless. They evoke the kind of wonder that is appropriate of a sci-fi setting

Then the ST. Poe, Finn, Rey, Hux. These aren't names, they are sounds. Single syllables encapsulating audience wide disgust. There is no wonder to be had here, much like the sequel trilogy itself.

Aye. How times have changed...

How great would it be if this movie made less money than Joker?

I don't think it will happen, but given the immediate backlash this movie is already receiving from critics, then ... Hopefully that will be in the realm of possibility.
There’s no way it won’t make less money than Joker and I’ll try to keep it to less than an essay.
1. Joker’s budget was comically low compared to pretty much everything else in years, something near 50 mil if my memory serves me.
2. Marketing budget was also probably low, especially when a good rule of thumb is that marketing get about half the production budget. What adverts did people see for Joker? I only knew it was coming out from word of mouth and that Phoenix generally turns in good performances.
3. This last one is a big part of why Solo was considered the failure it was. Massive Reshoots. Joker had to be done without any because the absurd amount of weight that Phoenix lost for the role was actively fucking with his health. RotS had reshoots as late as the last month or 2. Word is that they didn’t have a final cut of the film until around a week ago. You don’t ever want to do reshoots if you can avoid it. They had to know it could be an issue because Ron Howard had to scrap god knows how much shit when he was brought on, and unlike JJ he’s a competent director and Solo was still fucked.

I hate the new trilogy too but
Edgar Allen POE
RAY Charles
Neil FINN
and Aldous HUXley

Apparently both Rich and Mike are angry and are also angry at jay for not caring and jay is angry that people care too much.

The review is going to be fucking amazing.
Jay just wants good art house films, though mike being pissed surprises me, I thought he gave up hope a long ass time ago
